Why saw palmetto should not be overlooked in treatment of LUTS

Video

“I think it's important for urologists and physicians to have an open mind in regard to complementary approaches to the treatment of BPH-related LUTS in men,” says J. Curtis Nickel, MD, FRCSC.

In this video, J. Curtis Nickel, MD, FRCSC, discusses future research on saw palmetto and why he thinks there is enough evidence to support urologists prescribing this medication to patients suffering from lower urinary tract symptoms secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia. Nickel is a professor of urology at Queen’s University, and a research chair in urologic pain and inflammation at Kingston Health Sciences Centre, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
