Driver Escapes Wrecked Truck In Melville

The truck struck a utility pole.

A truck driver escaped injuries despite a crash destroying the cab of the truck on Thursday, July 6.

According to fire officials, firefighters responded to Hilltop Drive and Mount Misery Road to find that a Ryder truck struck a utility pole, bringing down the pole and wires, at 1:50 p.m.

The driver was able to remove himself from the wreckage uninjured.

The Melville Fire Department responded to the crash with Assistant Chiefs Chris Nolan and Bill Schmitt on the scene. PSE&G was also notified to respond to the incident.
