California's Richest Communities: Do You Live In One Of Them?

A new census analysis published in Bloomberg ranks America's richest communities. See if your city or town made the list.

Where do America's richest residents live? Many of them are in California, according to a new report.

A new analysis of census data published by Bloomberg indicates that cities and towns with ties to Wall Street and Silicon Valley had the highest U.S. household incomes in 2015. The richest households weren't isolated to the coasts, with some communities in between also making the list.

Atherton, California, topped the list, owing to its proximity to Silicon Valley. Piedmont holds the 15th spot, while Kentfield sits at number 18. On the opposite coast, Bloomberg notes that more than one-third of the country's richest households were located within 50 miles of New York City.
