Police Blotter: March 24 – 30

The weekly crime activity report from the Greenbelt Police.

March 24: A blue 2002 BMW, reported stolen through Florida, was recovered on the 6900 block of Hanover Parkway. No arrests were made.

March 25:  A non-resident juvenile was petitioned for trespassing on private property on the 9100 block of Springhill Lane at 3:18 p.m. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending action by the Department of Juvenile Services.

A car window was broken on the 7100 block of Greenbelt Road.

March 26: Sherman Lyonel Wright, 31, of Hyattsville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol among other charges after a traffic stop on the intersection of Greenbelt Road and Cherrywood Lane at 12:41 a.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Leon Ellis Sims, Jr., 42, of Lanham, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol among other charges after a traffic stop on the intersection of Hanover Parkway and Hanover Drive at 1:05 a.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Lawal Lukuman, 62, of Gaithersburg, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol among other charges after a traffic stop on the 7600 block of Greenbelt Road at 2:46 a.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Jose E. Moratay, 45, of Adelphi, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol among other charges after a traffic stop on the intersection of Greenbelt Road and 63rd Avenue at 3:30 a.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

An apartment window was broken on the 5800 block of Cherrywood Lane at 1:01 p.m.

March 27:  Remy Martin Brooks, 18, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, among other charges after a traffic stop on the intersection of Greenbelt Road and Hanover Parkway at 2:28 a.m. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

March 28: Electronics were taken from a residence on the 5800 block of Cherrywood Terrace at 7:49 a.m.

Ozzie Lee Turner, III, 35, of Bowie, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine in a school zone, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine and possession of marijuana, among other charges on the 9100 block of Edmonston Terrace at 11:19 a.m. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

Tools were taken from a vehicle on the 5900 block of Cherrywood Terrace.

March 29: Electronics were taken from a residence on the 7900 block of Mandan Road at 8:15 p.m.

A blue 1996 Chevrolet Impala with Maryland tags was taken on the 9100 block of Springhill Lane.

A car window was broken on the 8100 block of Bird Lane.

Jason Edward Eisenhardt, 33, of Baltimore, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol among other charges after a traffic stop on the intersection of Greenbelt Road and Lakecrest Drive at 11:47 p.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

March 30:  An apartment window was broken on the 6100 block of Breezewood Drive at 9:07 p.m.
