Educational tourism

Diana, a pedagogue and adult educator from Austria, joined the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) programme with a clear goal: to deepen her entrepreneurial competencies and explore the potential of launching a transnational educational association. Her stay with Tenerife Job Training (TJT), founded by Mariví Gracia, became a transformative experience—both professionally and personally. Driven by her vision to build something of her own in the field of international education, Diana immersed herself fully in the daily operations of TJT.

She didn’t just observe; she actively contributed to the company’s strategic development. Her involvement spanned across key entrepreneurial areas including: Assisting in the pursuit of official accreditation and brand positioning as an international educational provider; Supporting financial planning and course development with a keen eye on future scalability; Promoting TJT's educational offerings through active representation and tailored marketing efforts; Contributing to blog articles and content creation rooted in educational theory and tourism; Providing invaluable linguistic and cultural support for German-speaking clients and partners.

Diana was not only learning what it means to be an entrepreneur—she was already becoming one. Her collaboration with TJT allowed her to test ideas, gain first-hand experience in managing educational products, and start making concrete financial and operational plans for her own future association.

Mariví, who knows from her own EYE experience what it takes to build a business from scratch, recognised Diana’s entrepreneurial drive from the start. She shares:

"Diana brought fresh perspectives to TJT. Her experience, especially in German-speaking markets, opened new doors for us. Thanks to her, we’ve improved our training quality and entered the Bildungsurlaub programme in Germany. She’s helped us connect better with clients and reflect on how we can innovate further.”

Mariví also highlights how Diana’s hands-on involvement in course implementation—including participant interaction and session evaluations—added depth to the company’s feedback process and service design.

Importantly, this collaboration has sparked ongoing plans for joint initiatives: from expanding course promotions in Austria, to co-organising a conference on educational tourism, and even a future training action in Hungary where both will co-lead.

Diana sums up the experience not as an ending, but a new beginning:

"This is just a ‘see you later’. We’ll definitely continue working together.”

As she moves forward in establishing her own transnational educational association, Diana carries with her the practical skills, network, and confidence built during her EYE journey. With Mariví's ongoing support, her path into entrepreneurship is already taking shape.
