5G-V2X Sidelink Radio Conformance Testing

Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) is a key enabler of connected mobility. The communication technology enables vehicles to exchange and share traffic information with other vehicles, roadside units, and pedestrians.

3GPP LTE-V2X Releases 14 and 15 address day-one use cases, which set the foundation for the use of V2X and largely focus on improving road safety. 3GPP 5G NR-V2X Release 16 leans toward enabling advanced use cases with a focus on autonomous driving while improving the functions of day-one use cases.

The radio conformance test (RCT) between the Ettifos SIRIUS 5G-V2X sidelink platform and the Keysight N9020B signal analyzer and N5182B MXG signal generator is the first for 3GPP 5G New Radio (NR) Release 16. The purpose of this test is to prove standard conformance and performance of a 5G-V2X software-defined platform using Keysight’s robust and reliable testing equipment.
