Wisconsin’s Lt. Gov. visits Superior highlighting

Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez talked with local health providers about apprenticeships and models to encourage more students and faculty to move into clinical experiences.

Wisconsin Lt. Governor Sara Rodriguez is also a nurse. So she made good connections with health care leaders in Superior on Friday at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital-Superior.

This discussion was about workforce.

“As the chair of the Healthcare Workforce Task Force, I’ve been traveling all around the state of Wisconsin talking to different healthcare systems, trying to understand what their challenges are, and if they have any innovative solutions that they’re using to make sure that they can attract, retain the healthcare workforce here,” she said afterwards. “And Essential Health has a lot of great things that they’re working on, and being able to cross-pollinate some of those ideas across the state, I think, is going to be really interesting for the task force to be able to move forward,” she told us afterwards.

Essentia leaders said they felt really heard.

Rodriguez also visited with students at the high school and hiked at Pattison State Park.
