Business Events Perth is proud to recognise Western Australia’s brightest minds through the Aspire Awards program, which returns in 2025 for its 26th year. Each year, the Aspire Awards provide travel grants to outstanding individuals to support their attendance at international conferences. In 2025, ten recipients will have the opportunity to present their work on a global stage, build international networks, and explore new opportunities for collaboration, research, innovation and trade. This week, Business Events Perth was proud to welcome the AIA Singapore Convention 2025 to Western Australia, accommodating over 1,400 of the company’s top achievers in our beautiful State.   Jointly supported by Business Events Perth and Business Events Australia, this event marks the largest ever incentive movement to Western Australia from a South / South-East Asian market - a significant milestone for our State’s business events sector.   We extend our sincere thanks to the dedicated team at MICE Matters for their exceptional delivery and acknowledge the many Western Australian partners who helped create an unforgettable program for delegates.   Together, Team WA showcased why Western Australia is #WAtheDreamState for global incentive programs.

Perth breaks into Asia-Pacific top 25 in global business events rankings! Perth has made a remarkable leap in the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) 2024 Country and City Rankings, climbing 123 places to reach 105th globally and rising to 21st in the Asia-Pacific region — among the fastest ascents worldwide. This strong performance highlights the collective efforts of Western Australia’s business events sector and its partners across government, academia and industry, who continue to drive global collaboration through strategically aligned business events — attracting the world’s brightest minds and delivering long-term economic and social benefits for the state’s visitor economy.

Something remarkable has arrived in the heart of Perth for you to discover during your conference stay. The Boonji Spaceman, a seven-metre-tall sculpture by internationally renowned artist Brendan Murphy, is now on display in Stirling Gardens on St Georges Terrace, just a short walk from many of the city’s conference venues. Inspired by Perth’s legacy as the City of Light, the artwork pays tribute to the moment in 1962 when astronaut John Glenn observed the city illuminated from space during his orbit of Earth. Perth is now one of only six cities worldwide to host a Boonji Spaceman, joining Antigua, London, Oslo, Houston and Dubai.
