Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation connecting people all over Western Australia with information and services so they can make independent and informed decisions.
CABWA acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands in which we live and work, the Whadjuk Noongar people. We pay our respects to elders past and present and acknowledge their special connection to land, waters and community. We extend that respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We recognise the importance of supporting carers in the workplace, we are an accredited Carer-Friendly employer.
At the CAB, “Carer” is defined according to the Carers Recognition Act 2004 (WA). The full definition has been adopted by the CAB and can be found in our Carer-Friendly Employment Practices policy.
According to this definition, a carer is someone who provides unpaid care or assistance to a person living with disability, alcohol or other drug dependency, is frail or aged, or someone with mental health challenges or long term health conditions (including a chronic condition or terminal illness).

The first CAB was created in England in response to the prospect of world war. Volunteers dealt with problems ranging from the loss of ration books, homelessness and evacuation. They also helped locate missing relatives and prisoners of war.
