Serving up Bright Futures for NJTLT Student-Athletes

A Fantastic Day of Tennis and Community: 2025 Capital Cup Friendraiser Recap
On Saturday, May 10, 2025, NJTL of Trenton hosted our annual Capital Cup Friendraiser – Drill & Play event in partnership with our longtime supporters the Trenton Country Club. We’re so grateful to all who joined us—our generous sponsors, players, families, and friends—for making the day such a memorable success!
Guests enjoyed morning Drill & Play sessions with favorite local teaching pros, a meet-and-rally with NJTLT Ashe Elite students, a delicious buffet lunch, and an exciting live auction. The event was also an opportunity to celebrate some of the exceptional individuals in our community.
This year, we were proud to honor Andrew “Andy” Stoll, Lead Coach for NJTL of Trenton and Head Men’s Tennis Coach at Mercer County Community College. Andy’s leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to our student-athletes continue to shape and inspire our program. We were also delighted to have JoSeph Revell present the Albert Stark Sportsmanship Award to Isabella Spencer, an NJTLT student. The day wrapped up with a fun tennis exhibition by our Ashe Elite students, showcasing the talent, hard work, and passion that drives everything we do.
All proceeds from the Capital Cup Friendraiser directly support NJTL of Trenton’s mission to provide academic and tennis programs that expand opportunities for under-resourced youth in Trenton and surrounding communities.
Our flagship Cadwalader Park Junior Champions Tennis Center is part of a national network of over 500 nonprofit youth organizations under the USTA Foundation. NJTL of Trenton has twice been named USTA Chapter of the Year, and our innovative ACE (Academic Creative Engagement) program is a nationally recognized model for integrating tennis and education.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to professional photographer Beverly Schaefer for capturing the highlights of the day. Your exceptional work and the beautiful photos are truly appreciated!

Andrew Stoll
NJTLT Lead High Performance Coach
Andrew "Andy" Stoll is a distinguished tennis coach and mentor, serving as the Lead Head Coach for the National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) of Trenton and as the Head Men’s Tennis Coach at Mercer County Community College (MCCC). He also co-leads the Junior Team Tennis League at Mercer County Park alongside Lisa Ullmann. The league welcomes players of all ages to enjoy weekly matches in a fun and friendly team-based format. His unwavering dedication to the sport and his profound impact on the community will be celebrated at NJTL of Trenton's Annual Capital Cup "Friendraiser" Drill & Play Social on May 10, 2025.
Coach Stoll’s journey with tennis began at the age of eight in Barbados, where he first picked up a racket and developed a lifelong passion for the game. This early enthusiasm has translated into a career marked by a commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting the values of discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship. As the Lead High Performance Coach for NJTL of Trenton, Coach Stoll has been instrumental in providing free or low-cost tennis and educational programming to under-resourced youth. His efforts have positively impacted the lives of countless children, providing them with opportunities for personal growth and academic success through the sport of tennis. Stoll’s deep connection to the community is evident in his role as a mentor and father figure to many participants, guiding them both on and off the court.

At MCCC, Coach Stoll has led the men's tennis program with distinction since assuming the head coach position in 2020. Under his guidance, the Vikings achieved a third-place finish at the 2022 NJCAA National Championship, with players Ronaldo Jacamo and Alfred Kandakai securing national titles in singles and doubles events. In 2023, player Peyton Miller clinched the Region 19 Championship at first singles, highlighting the team's competitive edge under Coach Stoll's leadership. Beyond his coaching responsibilities, Coach Stoll actively engages in initiatives that broaden the horizons of young athletes. He has facilitated trips for NJTL students to the US Open, providing them with exposure to professional tennis and New York City's cultural landmarks. Additionally, Coach Stoll played a pivotal role in organizing the NJTL's 30th Annual Gala, featuring former world number one
tennis player Kim Clijsters, which further inspired the next generation of players. Coach Stoll’s philosophy is simple: he doesn’t care who he’s coaching—he just requires that they want to learn and have a good time. “We have great kids, but they don’t always come from family-focused households,” he said. “I like being a positive influence in their lives.” His dedication and contributions to the sport and the community exemplify the spirit of NJTL of Trenton, making his recognition at the upcoming Capital Cup both fitting and well-deserved.
