UK physicians tell government more action needed to limit vape-related risks

E-cigarettes are a valid smoking-cessation tool, but they still represent a risk for young people, non-smokers and the environment, according to a recent report by the UK Royal College of Physicians (RCP).

Based on the findings of “E-cigarettes and harm reduction: an evidence review 2024”, while vaping represents a safer alternative for smokers who want to quit, the UK government should do more to make sure e-cigarettes are not appealing, accessible and affordable for non-smokers, including anyone under-age, and to reduce their environmental impact.
