From having no leads as a new attorney, I am now handling quite a lot of clients. I'm actually turning down some referrals at this point because I get enough referrals through LegalMatch.
Before I used LegalMatch, I was struggling on my own trying to figure out how to market my firm. I am more of a touchy, feely attorney. I'm not a business attorney. So, I was struggling and trying to figure out how to reach the market of my ideal client. Then I came to LegalMatch and it was already all set up. All I had to do is respond to the cases that seem like something that I would be interested in and it works from there.
With LegalMatch, I don't have to go out there and pound the pavement, attend functions, and things like that. My clients just come to me. It's got a unique factor where it filters the clients that already know how to use the computer. They already know how to do virtual meetings. That's the exact kind of client I need during COVID. They can attend virtual hearings and they can communicate outside of the normal office meeting.

I was really surprised that LegalMatch has a built-in CRM system that intuitively simplifies the process of converting a prospect into a client. Once you respond using the template, you can find them again in the respondent section and you can follow up with those clients. You should have at least three touches with each client before giving up.
Sometimes you can go two or three days and not hear anything and then get five leads the next day. But most days, you get one or two leads. I think it works because you're not overwhelmed in one day with all of the consultations and the majority of my leads turn into clients. Once I have a chance to actually speak to them and hear their issues, I let them know how I can help them and they go with me.
I haven't used any other lead-generating systems. I briefly looked at Avvo and I didn't like the pricing for the area that they were going to give me. LegalMatch gave me a greater geographical area where my responses could come from, and I had more topics to choose from. I felt like there was less competition with LegalMatch.
Attorneys who are just starting with LegalMatch should give themselves a couple of days to get used to the system. LegalMatch is user-friendly and very intuitive. Just give it a day or two and it'll feel like second nature. This is what you should have been using all along.
I found that after I add in my profile picture and the clients could see my face, I get a lot more positive responses. I think there's something about seeing the person that you're going to be working with. So, fill out your profile, fill out your bio, and put in all of your contact information, but don't put your personal cell phone number.
If you’re spending the money on marketing, you might as well just put it into LegalMatch to get the best leads. You're not spending half your day trying to figure out how you're going to market your services to other people. With LegalMatch, you have a choice of the clients coming to you and you can pick from those clients.
