Description Black and white photograph of the interior of the telephone company. There are four women seated at switchboards on the wall on the left. There are two men seated and one man standing at a desk to the right of the women. The are looking at papers on the desk. There are two men standing beside the open door which appears to lead into a hallway. There is another man standing beside the switchboards, watching the women. On the right side there is a tall cabinet. There is a telephone on the wall behind the desk (beside a window) and another on the desk. The wallpaper is patterned and there is some type of pipe thing hanging from the ceiling in the centre of the room. Beside the door is a maybe wicker shelving unit of some sort.
Post it note on the back: "Property of Telephone Historical Collection Guelph Staff in operating room 1895 From left: Misses Pringle, M.Grant, L.E.Grant, F.Sully, operators; Messrs E. Coulson, Inspector; T.W.Whitina, Manager:Joseph Curzon" Another post-it has: "linesman: W.Gibson,night manager. At desk: J.F.Gardner, Chief clerk; H.M. Black, messenger."
