As part of our team you will carry out assessments either in-person or virtually for those making a claim for the Personal Independent Payment (PIP) benefit or being referred through the Government’s Health Advisory Assessment Services (HAAS).
As a PIP Functional Assessor, you will gather and review information given by the individual or their representative about their medical condition(s), in order to make an assessment . Once you have completed the assessment this will be used to provide a personalised report. Your reports should be a true reflection of the individual’s functional ability and meet the standards set out by the Department of Work and Pensions.

Who can work as a PIP Functional Assessor?
To join our team you must be registered with either the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and have a minimum of one years' UK clinical experience. You will need to live and have the right to work in the UK as unfortunately we cannot offer visa sponsorship for these roles.
One of the many advantages of becoming a PIP Functional Assessor with Medacs Healthcare is that we pay for your professional registration so whether you are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) we've got you covered! Once you have passed your probation at six months we will reimburse your NMC/HCPC registration fee.

Training, support and career development!
Your ongoing professional development is important to us, to prepare you for your new role as a PIP Functional Assessor, your journey begins with us in the training Academy.
Our training is a mixture of in-office and at home and is provided by a multi-skillset team. Once you have completed your academy journey, you will have the skills to work autonomously within your team, whilst being supported by your clinical support manager.
Beyond your initial training, we will support you with advancing your longer term professional goals, this will also help you to maintain your professional registration and evidence CPD.
Our offices.
We have offices throughout Yorkshire and North East of England and all of our roles are office-based or hybrid. Which means you get to split your time between your own home and one of our offices so less commuting and still working closely with your team.
