  • Some SFCC programs include Skills Certificates for students interested in acquiring a set of specialized skills that could lead to quick employment. Besides the ability to enter the workforce quickly, a 15- to 18-credit Skills Certificate also is a great pathway to a Professional Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science degree.

  • One-year Professional Certificates are designed to get students into the workforce quickly. Most 30- to 36-credit certificates can be applied toward an Associate of Applied Science degree if students decide to continue after completing their certificate programs.

  • The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree requires 61 to 95 credits and is designed for students who plan to enter the workforce immediately after graduating from their programs. Students choose an area of emphasis or specialty so they are prepared for entry-level career positions within a specific field or industry.

  • The 64-credit Associate of Arts (AA) degree is designed for students who want to transfer to a four-year college or university and earn a bachelor’s degree.

  • The Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) degree was created by Missouri four-year colleges and community colleges. Students who earn the 65.5-credit AAT degree at SFCC can transfer easily to Missouri four-year colleges or universities to complete Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degrees in education. Earning an AAT at SFCC is economical and expedites the transition to four-year universities.

  • The Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) degree requires 64 to 67 credits. It provides concentrated study in art, music or theatre and a foundation for upper-level class work leading to a bachelor’s degree.

  • Associate of Science degrees in Chemistry (ASC) or Engineering (ASE) are the only AS degree programs offered in the college’s 14-county service area. They provide students with the first two years of study toward bachelor’s degrees in either chemistry or engineering and are designed to transfer to specific four-year universities. AS degrees require 65 to 67 credits.
