Brands Hatch - 5th October

The 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship came to an emotional close at Brands Hatch as Jake Hill bid farewell to Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport. Behind the wheel of the #1 WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport, Jake was determined to finish the season on a high after announcing his departure from the championship he had called home for nearly a decade.

After mixed free practice and qualifying sessions, he started Sunday’s first race strongly but was forced to retire to P19 following contact and a puncture. Undeterred, Jake battled back in race two, climbing from the back of the grid to P7 with skilful overtakes and smart racecraft. Starting P3 in the reverse-grid finale, he fought his way onto the podium, finishing P3 in his final BTCC race – a perfect send-off to a remarkable career.

The results secured fourth in the championship with 295 points, 5 wins, and seven podiums, closing the season on a memorable and emotional high for both Jake and the team.

Silverstone - 21st September

Jake Hill and Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport celebrated another strong weekend in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, collecting two podiums and a fourth-place finish at Silverstone.

Carrying momentum from Donington, Jake qualified P3 in challenging mixed conditions, setting up a strong Sunday. In race one, he climbed to second after bold moves on Lloyd and Shedden, scoring his fifth podium of 2025. Race two saw him briefly lead before tyre choice and TTB disadvantage dropped him to third—another solid podium finish. Starting P10 in the reverse-grid finale, Jake charged through the pack to finish fourth, showcasing trademark aggression and racecraft.

The results move Jake to fourth in the standings on 271 points, just four shy of the top three – an impressive feat given his absence from Croft. The season now heads to the Brands Hatch finale on 4–5 October, where Jake and the team will fight for a top-three championship finish.

Donington Park GP - 31st August

Jake Hill battled hard at Donington Park to claim sixth, ninth and fifth-place finishes in round eight of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.

Fresh from his Knockhill success, Jake showed promise in qualifying with his #1 WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport, but a deleted lap for track limits and worsening rain left him P11 on the grid.

On race day, Jake stormed through to sixth in the opener with a series of bold moves. In race two, he was fighting for the podium before a sudden downpour sent several cars off at McLeans. Recovering from the gravel, he fought back to ninth as the safety car ended the race. The reverse grid finale saw him charge from ninth on the harder tyre to an impressive fifth, narrowly missing the podium.

Jake leaves Donington fifth in the Drivers’ Championship on 225 points, with Silverstone up next on 20–21 September.

Croft - 3rd August

The 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship roared back to life at Croft over the weekend of 2–3 August following its mid-season break. Oulton Park - 22nd June

Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport faced a rollercoaster weekend at Oulton Park during the fifth round of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship. Despite a tough qualifying, the team bounced back admirably, securing two seventh-place finishes and an impressive fifth-place result, marking a hat-trick of top-ten finishes.

Heading into the final round before the summer break, the team headed to picturesque Oulton Park for Round Five. Despite scorching temperatures, Saturday’s sessions began with mixed results, posting 16th and 19th place finishes in practice.

In Saturday’s qualifying session, Jake Hill narrowly missed advancing to the next stage in his WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport, falling short by a mere tenth of a second. He qualified 13th for Sunday’s races.

Starting from the seventh row, Jake wasted no time making up ground in Race One, moving up to 11th with two overtakes on the opening lap. Despite a safety car interruption, he pushed forward, ultimately finishing seventh – a stellar recovery that earned him a fourth-row start for Race Two.

In Race Two, Jake continued his strong performance, climbing to fifth after another safety car period, maintaining position to the finish line for another solid result.

Race Three brought wet conditions, and Jake capitalized on a lightning start to reach third by the first corner. Though challenges arose with safety car periods and a drying track, he held on for seventh place at the end.

Despite the challenges, Jake concluded the weekend with three top-ten finishes, showcasing resilience and consistency at Oulton Park.

With Jake now fifth in the Drivers’ Championship with 143 points, Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport looks ahead to racing at Croft Circuit on 2 – 3 August, after the summer break.

Thruxton - 8th June

Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport endured a challenging weekend at Thruxton in the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship. Despite facing various issues, reigning champion Jake Hill managed to secure two solid top six finishes after overcoming adversity.

The weekend at Thruxton, hosting the fourth round of the championship, featured unpredictable weather conditions. Saturday began with dry weather that soon turned into torrential rain during qualifying. Driving the rear-wheel drive BMW 330i M Sport prepared by WSR, Jake Hill struggled with aquaplaning at speeds exceeding 140mph, unlike his front-wheel drive competitors who were less affected.

Qualifying in P8, just missing the ‘Quick Six’ shootout, Jake started Race 1 strongly but was pushed onto the grass by a competitor, costing him positions. Despite this setback, he fought back to finish in P6.

In Race 2, starting from P6, Jake engaged in a fierce battle for the podium, exchanging positions with Dan Rowbottom throughout the race. Despite losing rear grip towards the end, he crossed the line in P6, later upgraded to P5.

Race 3 saw Jake starting third due to the reverse grid draw. After initially leading, a safety car period and tire temperature issues dropped him down the order. A collision with Ash Sutton further hampered his race, relegating him to P18 by the end.

Despite the mixed results, Jake Hill sits fifth in the Drivers’ Championship standings. Looking ahead to Round 5 at Oulton Park, scheduled for 21–22 June, the team remains determined to improve their performance.

Snetterton - 25th May

Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport faced a tough weekend at Snetterton in the third round of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, managing just twelve points across two races. After a strong showing at Brands Hatch, the team encountered setbacks with Jake Hill leading FP1 and finishing P6 in FP2 despite challenges managing the Toca Turbo Boost (TTB) handicap. Qualifying proved difficult, leaving Jake starting race one from P20.

Race one saw Jake making an impressive start but was unfortunately taken out by a rival, forcing a pit stop for repairs and a 22nd place finish. Despite this, he rebounded in race two with an impressive drive, climbing from the back to finish 11th. In race three, Jake fought hard to secure ninth place, marking the team’s first race day without a top-five finish since Oulton Park in 2022.

Despite the challenges, Jake remains third in the Drivers’ Championship standings after three rounds. Looking ahead to Thruxton in June, Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport is focused on returning to competitive form.

Jake Hill reflected: “It’s been one of the toughest weekends of my touring car career. We’ve learned a lot, and despite the difficulties, we’re making progress with both the car and the team.”

Brands Hatch Indy - 11th May

Laser Tools Racing, partnered with MB Motorsport and Jake Hill, made a triumphant return to the forefront of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch. They clinched pole position, secured a victory, achieved second place, and finished eighth in the second round of the 2025 season.

This marked the team’s rebound from a disappointing start to the season, especially significant as it unfolded at Jake’s and the team’s home circuit in Kent. Saturday’s qualifying session highlighted Jake’s stellar performance in the WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport, where he captured his fourth BTCC pole position, a first at Brands Hatch, setting the stage for a promising race day ahead.

Sunday saw Jake dominate with a lights-to-flag victory in Race One, his first win of the 2025 campaign and his 21st career BTCC win, adding to his impressive 60 podium finishes overall in the series. Despite challenges in Race Two due to new tyre rules, Jake’s resilient drive earned him a hard-fought eighth place finish.

His strong performance also secured a front-row start for Race Three through a reverse grid draw. In a thrilling finale, Jake battled fiercely for second place, showcasing exceptional defensive skills to secure another podium finish.

Jake’s weekend haul of 48 points propelled him to third in the Drivers’ Championship standings with a total of 80 points, just 12 points behind the leader. The team now looks ahead to the next round at Snetterton on 24-25 May, aiming to build on their early-season success.

Donington Park - 27th April

Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport kicked off their 2025 British Touring Car Championship campaign with a solid points haul at Donington Park, continuing their strong record at the Leicestershire circuit.

In Saturday’s free practice sessions, Jake Hill, behind the wheel of the WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport, recorded P14 and P6 finishes as the team fine-tuned the car. Hill went on to secure P8 in qualifying, setting the stage for a competitive Sunday.

Race One saw Jake make a fast start, climbing from P8 and taking advantage of a Safety Car to pick off rivals. A post-race penalty for Tom Chilton promoted Hill to P4, marking a strong opening result.

In Race Two, Hill launched from the second row and surged into P3 at the first corner. He kept pace with the leaders throughout but was edged out of a podium finish in the closing laps, crossing the line in P4 once again.

Starting P3 in the reverse-grid Race Three, Hill ran near the front early on. However, after contact with a rival, he slipped down the order, ending the day in P10.

Despite some setbacks, Hill’s consistent performance puts him sixth in the Drivers’ Standings with 32 points. The team now shifts focus to the next round at Brands Hatch Indy, 10–11 May.

Jake Hill said: “We worked hard all weekend and collected valuable data. There’s still more to come, and we’ll be pushing for the front at Brands Hatch.”
