This webinar, organised by The Global Health Network, OUCRU, and MORU, was held in recognition of World Malaria Day 2025. It explored the often-overlooked burden of malaria in Southeast Asia. Distinguished researchers from OUCRU and MORU shared insights into the regional malaria research portfolio, covering topics such as the development of artemether-based drugs, surveillance of drug-resistant malaria, treatment trials, and the critical importance of including pregnant women in research.
The session also showcased innovative community engagement initiatives—highlighting how community voices were brought to the forefront, how researchers engaged with hard-to-reach communities in challenging contexts, and how creative approaches were used to raise awareness and understanding.
