MYSOL expands chrome mining fleet with Volvo Construction Equipment and Babcock support
MYSOL Holdings is scaling up its chrome mining operations with 30 new Volvo articulated haulers (ADTs) and 10 Volvo excavators, reinforcing its position as a key player in South Africa’s mining sector. This significant investment, delivered in February 2025, is part of an ongoing collaboration with Volvo Construction Equipment and Babcock, Volvo CE’s exclusive dealer in Southern Africa.
A Growing Partnership Built on Trust
At the official handover of the new machines, Roger O'Callaghan, CEO of Babcock Africa, highlighted the long-term partnership that has fueled MYSOL’s success:

Since acquiring its first Volvo EC550E crawler excavator and wheel loader in 2021, MYSOL has consistently invested in Volvo equipment, expanding its fleet with EC750D and EC950E excavators to meet the increasing demands of high-volume chrome extraction.
In 2024, the company took a major step forward by adding 18 Volvo A40 articulated haulers, four EC750D excavators, and two EC950E excavators. Now, with 40 more Volvo machines joining the fleet, MYSOL is gearing up for even greater production capacity in 2025.
