DICKSON, Tenn. (April 27, 2025) – The leader by four strokes going into the final day, Rhodes held off a hard charging Centre squad to win the 2025 SAA Women’s Golf Championship by one shot on Sunday afternoon.

The SAA title is a fifth for the Lynx and first since 2018. Centre entered the event as the four-time defending champions.
Rhodes was 36-over for the championship, turning in scores of 297-299-304. Centre had the best final day, posting a 301 to finish 37-over (293-307-301). Sewanee was third at 82-over (313-317-316).
Annie Piggott of Millsaps tied the SAA championship record for the best round, firing a four-under 68 on Sunday to earn medalist honors. The senior was even par for the weekend with rounds of 76-72-68, vaulting four spots up the leaderboard on the final day. Her closing round was bogey free with four birdies and 14 pars, tying Centre’s Rylee Suttor in 2022 for the best round in championship history.
Sydney Bowes of Berry was runner-up, finishing a stroke back of Piggott. The Viking carded scores of 76-70-71 to finish even park. Rhodes’ Emily Mu was third at three-over while Grace Walker of Centre (+6) was fourth and Rhodes Ava Bankston (+6) fifth.
Bankston was voted the SAA Athlete of the year by the coaches while Millsaps Abi Ceerwick was the Rookie of the Year. Led by Sarah Posey, Rhodes was named the Coaching Staff of the Year.
