The City of Obetz is excited to announce the arrival of a brand-new Subway restaurant at the corner of Maureen Boulevard North and Alum Creek Drive—directly across from Vance Outdoors. This project represents not just new development, but also the relocation of the existing Subway located further south on Alum Creek Drive near E. Howard Road. The new site offers improved accessibility and visibility while maintaining the brand’s long-standing presence in the community.

In partnership with Fresh Subs, LLC, the development is made possible through a formal agreement with the City of Obetz, finalized in May 2024. The agreement outlines a shared commitment to infrastructure improvements, public access, and long-term economic growth.

As part of the project:

• Subway will dedicate 20 feet of right-of-way along Maureen Boulevard to the City of Obetz.

• An additional 70 feet of right-of-way will be dedicated for the future extension of Froelich Boulevard.

• Once improvements are completed, Subway will install a curb island to improve traffic flow and restrict left-in and left-out movements.

• A future private access drive will also connect the property to the extended Froelich/Maureen intersection, enhancing overall site access.

In addition to providing fresh food options and new employment opportunities, the relocated Subway supports the City’s ongoing goals for revitalizing key corridors and expanding commercial development.
