October 2025 ceremony schedules
SFU will host eight in-person convocation ceremonies from October 9-10. Mark you calendar and save the date!

SFU respectfully acknowledges that convocation is hosted on the traditional, unceded and continually occupied territories of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish) and səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples. There is a great amount of work to be done towards reconciliation and systemic decolonization within the university. We are committed to educating ourselves and others, respectfully including Indigenous practices, protocols and ceremony into convocation, and continuing to build meaningful relationships with Indigenous peoples across these lands.
At the October 2025 convocation ceremonies, SFU will be conferring honorary degrees to distinguished individuals in recognition of their scholarly, scientific or artistic achievement, or in recognition of exceptional contribution to the public good.
