U.S. Renal Care Premieres Short Film Honoring the Gift of Organ Donation During National Donate Life Month
In honor of National Donate Life Month, U.S. Renal Care (USRC) is proud to premiere a short film telling the important story of team member Cecelia Moorman, RN and Clinical Specialist. A fierce advocate for transplant and organ donation, Cecelia shares, “In my own family, I have seen the profound difference that a transplant has made. Not only in the life of my father, but also my brother.” Through her family’s experience with kidney disease, she shares a story of hope, resilience, and the life-saving potential of organ donation.
Familiar with patient questions around transplant, Cecelia hopes that through sharing the story of her daughter Abby, and the kidney care journeys of both her father and brother, this film will help convey who donors are and why their gifts are so important. “I want patients to understand where organs come from,” she says. “I can tell you emphatically, donors are people who care about humanity.”
Cecelia’s story truly embodies how our personal experiences can shape deep connections to the work we do and care we provide. We are grateful and honored to share this impactful story.
Watch the Film:
USRC is committed to supporting our patients navigate the transplant process, and we work side-by-side with kidney transplant centers and other support networks to make kidney transplantation accessible. Our Kidney Care Options (KCO) team educates patients, and their families and loved ones, on dialysis options as well as kidney transplantation – exploring kidney transplantation with each person, while considering the dialysis modality that best fits their individual lifestyle. In 2025, we are expanding the scope of the KCO team to continue improving kidney waitlisting rates.
