Baruch College has once again received national recognition for academic excellence of its graduate programs, with both the Zicklin School of Business and Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs earning high rankings on U.S. News & World Report’s “2025 Best Graduate Schools” lists.

Seven of the programs ranked—three from Zicklin and four from Marxe—placed #1 in New York City among public institutions, with each earning the top or second spot statewide.

Zicklin School of Business: Shaping Global Business Leaders

For the seventh consecutive year, the Evening MBA, Full-Time MBA, and MBA in Accountancy programs have ranked #1 among public institutions both in New York City and New York State— highlighting a consistent track record of academic excellence in business education across the region.

Nationwide, Zicklin’s graduate programs continue to rise in the rankings, reflecting growing recognition for their quality and impact. The Evening MBA program climbed four positions to #23 among public institutions, and #36 overall out of 241 programs. The MBA in Accountancy also made significant gains, moving up five spots to #13 among public institutions and rising two places to #39 when private institutions are included.

“Again in 2025, the Zicklin School’s improved U.S. News rankings reflect our dedication to maximizing our students’ potential to lead in fast-moving global marketplaces,” said Bruce W. Weber, PhD, Willem Kooyker Dean of the Zicklin School. “Our highly regarded faculty, supportive staff, close connections to industry, and steadfast alumni partners ensure that our MBA programs amplify Zicklin’s unique ethos and build on our distinctive strengths.”

Marxe School of Public and International Affairs: ‘We are Driving Change’

The Master of Public Administration program continues its upward momentum, rising three places to #49 out of 268 programs nationwide—its third straight year of gains in the U.S. News & World Report rankings.

Specializations in nonprofit management, public policy analysis, and urban policy also earned strong national recognition, maintaining their #1 positions among public institutions in New York City for students pursuing these fields.

“The Marxe School’s national recognition speaks to the passion and excellence of our faculty, staff, and students,” said Dean Sherry Ryan, PhD.

“We are driving change in New York City and globally, preparing a new generation of diverse leaders—many of whom are the first in their families to attend graduate school—to shape the future of public and nonprofit service with impact and integrity. With improved national rankings as a testament to our momentum, we’re moving with purpose to meet the future head-on.”
