Around Australia there are still many who can't access the medical system or disengaged from it entirely. They might be sleeping rough or have experienced serious trauma.
When nurse Sonia Martin realised what was happening, she quit her hospital job and set up a nursing kit from her car boot. Today she runs public clinics and outreach services, focusing not just on traditional medical care, but on the circumstances that have led people to where they are.
Guest: Sonia Martin, founder of One Bridge and National Chair of the Street Health Faculty at the Australian College of Nursing.
