Mansfield, Mass. - Continuning its historic season, Adelphi University men's swimming and diving program has been recognized with three out of five postseason major awards, announced by the Northeast-10 Conference office on Thursday.

For the second time in four seasons, Head Coach Marc Danin has earned the title of Men's Swimming Coach of the Year, after leading his team to an undefeated dual meet season and a runner-up finish at the NE10 Championship. Danin led the Panthers to their highest team finish on the men's side, bringing a runner-up trophy back to Garden City. He oversaw 26 total medals, 10 total school records and the men's program securing 878 points en route to almost upsetting the eventual champions, Southern Connecticut.

Sophomore Ryan Kakimseit successfully defended his Swimmer of the Year honor, winning gold in every event at the conference championship back in February. In the seven events the New York, N.Y. native swam in, he reset five program records. His collection of golds include four different relays, the 100 backstroke, the 200 backstroke, and the 100 butterfly. Kakimseit is the first person to repeat as swimmer of the year since Leo Laporte of Southern Connecticut did it from 2018-2020.

Not to be out done, freshman Tristan Weingarten has started a streak for the 'Cats winning Rookie of the Year since Kakimseit won both Swimmer and Rookie of the year last season and Cooper Rivers won the honor in his first campaign. Weingarten secured four golds, coming from three relays and the 500 freestyle in program record time. In addition he achieved a B-cut time in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.57, good enough for a silver medal. Like his teammate, the Oakdale, N.Y. native swam away with seven medals.

Danin is retaining all but four seniors for the next season on the men's side, allowing for the Panthers to make yet another run for the top spot in the NE10
