April Was Testicular Cancer Awareness Month

Our staff wore lavender on Fridays in recognition of Testicular Cancer Awareness Month.

DID YOU KNOW?

Testicular cancer is the leading cancer in men 15-44, but can strike any age, yet it’s hardly talked about.

Every hour a male is diagnosed, and every day a life is lost.

Monthly self-exams and early detection are key!

Testicular Cancer is over 95% curable when detected early.

It's super important to take care of your health, so don't forget to check yourself for any lumps or abnormalities down there. It only takes a minute and could save your life!

Do You Know Your Numbers?

Did you know you could be at risk for heart disease or stroke but have no physical symptoms. This is just one reason why visiting a primary care physician for an annual checkup is so important.

Our Mobile Unit, Wellness on Wheels, brings this preventative care to communities where access to care is limited. Patients are provided with key numbers as a result of their visit: blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol. Knowing their numbers, they are then able to develop a personalized plan to reduce their risks and live a healthy lifestyle.

This is just one of the many vital services BCHC offers to the community.

You can do two things to help us:

  • Make an appointment to visit your Primary Care Provider (PCP).

If you already go to a PCP for annual checkups, fantastic! If not, it's time to make an appointment. And if you or someone you know needs a primary care provider, consider calling BCHC to make an appointment.

  • Make a donation to support the essential services we provide.

Every donation subsidizes the care we provide. Any amount makes a difference. Thank you for your support!
