Ideas Collide launched the ‘Suitcases of Hope’ campaign to provide suitcases for Devereux foster youth.

In 2023, Ideas Collide partnered with Devereux to revitalize two outdated murals in the cafeteria on campus.

“We believe partnerships rooted in purpose and compassion have the power to create lasting change, and our collaboration with Devereux embodies this belief.”

Since 2019, Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Arizona has teamed up with marketing communications firm Ideas Collide to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth served by the organization.

From suitcase donations for Devereux Arizona foster youth to the creation of vibrant and uplifting murals on campus, Ideas Collide is helping to build a brighter future for those in need.

“Ideas Collide is a valued community partner that is committed to inspiring hope and positivity among the individuals we serve, as well as our staff,” said Devereux Arizona Executive Director Yvette Jackson, LMSW, DBH. “Six years ago, when we shared how foster youth often arrive at our center with their belongings in nothing more than a disposable plastic bag, Ideas Collide launched the ‘Suitcases of Hope’ campaign to provide suitcases for our individuals. Since then, our partnership has only grown stronger, and Ideas Collide continues to make a profound and positive impact on the lives of those in our care.”

Diaz added, “For us, this partnership is not just about giving back, it’s about being part of a community effort that changes lives. Devereux’s work reminds us of the resilience and strength within each individual, and it’s a privilege to play a role in amplifying the organization’s mission.”

Providing suitcases, support

Since launching the ‘Suitcases of Hope’ campaign, Ideas Collide has donated nearly 300 suitcases to Devereux Arizona foster youth. Ideas Collide also provides stickers with positive affirmations so each child can personalize their suitcase. Read a previous news article on this campaign.

“‘Suitcases of Hope’ is not just about providing luggage – it’s about sending a message to these children that they are not alone,“ Diaz explained. “Many have endured trauma and uncertainty, and we want them to feel supported, valued and hopeful about their future. This program allows us to be part of their journey, and we are deeply honored to play a role in bringing light to their lives.”

Promoting positivity

In 2023, Ideas Collide saw another opportunity to make lasting contributions to the Devereux community by revitalizing two outdated murals in the cafeteria on campus.

“Our goal was to infuse the space with vibrancy and positivity, promoting an uplifting atmosphere for residents and staff,” Diaz noted. “By introducing bright colors, inviting visuals and encouraging messages through these murals, we wanted to foster a sense of optimism and possibility. This was our way of giving back to a community that does so much for others, ensuring everyone who walks through Devereux’s doors feels welcomed, inspired and supported.”

A successful partnership

In addition to ‘Suitcases of Hope’ and the murals, Ideas Collide donates its time and services to support Devereux’s fundraising efforts and annual event marketing.

“Ideas Collide is passionate about supporting Devereux,” Diaz said. “We know that, together, we can make an even greater impact, bringing light and hope to those who need it most.”

Jackson noted, “We are grateful to the incredible team at Ideas Collide for their generosity, creativity and dedication to empowering the youth in our care and strengthening our communities. We look forward to continuing this partnership for many years to come.”
