Cybersecurity regulation and compliance is one of those topics that feels difficult to keep up with because it is constantly changing. We’ve gathered leading speakers and experts to provide insights into Europe’s latest security and privacy regulations, including NIS2, DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act) and the Cyber Resilience Act, at the inaugural ISC2 SECURE Europe conference in Amsterdam.ISC2 SECURE-Europe

Also new this year, attendees are encouraged to attend the ISC2 Workshop: Securing AI immediately preceding SECURE Europe. Securing AI is a two-day workshop dedicated to identifying opportunities and managing the risks associated with artificial intelligence. For the combined two workshops, ISC2 members can earn up to 23 CPE credits.

During the May 29th SECURE Europe event, cybersecurity professionals will hear from experts as they discuss the critical domains that organizations must master to be compliant with Europe’s newest regulations:

  • Risk analysis and information system security policies
  • Incident reporting
  • Business continuity and crisis management
  • Promoting the use of open-source security tools
  • Managing risk within your supply chain
  • Vulnerability handling and disclosure
  • Information sharing
  • Basic computer hygiene practices at scale (including IAM)
  • Cybersecurity training
  • Preparing for a security audit
  • Corporate accountability

What to Expect

Attendees will start off networking with cybersecurity experts, their peers, ISC2 members and leaders the evening before at a reception at The Hyatt Regency Amsterdam.

This year’s opening keynote session is led by Hans de Vries, chief cybersecurity and operational officer at ENISA (European Union Agency for Cybersecurity).

Throughout the day, educational sessions will include:

  • Regulations Are Changing Your CISO’s Role. How Does That Affect You?

Europe's newest cyber regulations are forcing CISOs to rethink their priorities. In this session, a panel of corporate security and privacy leaders will reveal how they have evolved and adapted in light of the newfound corporate accountability that comes with NIS2, DORA and CRA. They will also address the downstream impact that such changes can have on security teams, and how employees must in turn adapt.

  • Using ECSF to Reduce the Cybersecurity Workforce and Skills Gap in the EU

ENISA’s European Cyber Security Framework is an organizational tool that classifies cybersecurity jobs by their requisite skills, tasks and knowledge, using a common set of terminology. This panel session will look at the ECSF’s varied use cases from multiple perspectives.

  • Open-Source Tools: Opening Up Pathways to Security and Compliance

For some organizations, the implementation of free open-source cybersecurity tools can help mitigate compliance costs. Ironically, however, some advocates have voiced concern that laws like the Cyber Resilience Act may impede such tools' adoption. This panel will examine some of the latest open-source cyber tools that are available to organizations, and the opportunities and impediments associated with them.

  • Aren't We in the Same Shoes? Ensuring Your Third-Party Partners Are as Compliant as You Are

Your entire third-party partner ecosystem needs to be compliant with Europe's cybersecurity and privacy regulations, not just your own company. Otherwise, even if your internal organization does everything by the book, your business partners could be exposing you to potential violations. This presentation will examine the skills and practices needed to meet desired regulatory outcomes, including supply-chain risk management and third-party compliance audits.

Attendees are encouraged to bundle their educational experience and attend both the SECURE Europe and the Securing AI events to maximize their opportunity to enhance their skills and expertise on many high-priority topics while earning 23 CPE credits.
