I had the pleasure of viewing a property with Lauren, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She was friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about both the house and the local area. Poor communication
As a tenant, you will feel just like a transaction particularly at the end of the tenancy. No communication at all, cold responses and took a complaint to get any sort of detailed explanation. Not willing to work with you, just throw a contract at you so beware when getting into longer leases. Also had to repair something myself because they just left it for months and then just asked me if it has resolved itself! My landlord even decided to move away from them once I had left the property so that says it all.

Professional company with good service
The initial onboarding and support with securing the tenancy was excellent. They supported a quick process and provided me with most of the information I required. During the tenancy they supported any enquiries well although sometimes there was duplication of emails and / or texts so it would have been useful for a more co-ordinated approach as confusing who was lead contact. The support for leaving the rental was excellent especially from Jordan and Lauren. Very responsive by text and email and keen to support.

Daniel Crewe and Emma Mitchell were absolutely fantastic when we were buying a property. Nothing was too much trouble for them, regular timely updates and really felt reassured during the whole process. Thanks to them, we are living in our dream property!
Frustrating Experience with Restrictive Policies
I recently enquired about a property managed by Lindley & Simpson for myself and my partner. We are in a stable financial situation with a combined monthly income of over £2,600 and £5,000 in savings for a deposit and rent upfront. My income is from sickness and disability benefits, which is a secure and indefinite source.
Unfortunately, we were immediately rejected with a blanket statement that the landlord cannot accept tenants who receive housing benefits due to "insurance on the property."
I found this response incredibly frustrating and disappointing. It is an unfair and restrictive policy that has a discriminatory impact on people with disabilities, whose income is often more stable and secure than someone in full-time employment who could lose their job. It's also a misconception that people on benefits are not responsible tenants. Our financial details and savings clearly demonstrated our capability to be reliable tenants.
This experience highlights the significant barriers responsible renters with stable, non-employment income face in the housing market. It's a practice that unfairly penalizes people based on the source of their income rather than their ability to pay the rent.
I hope that Lindley & Simpson will review these outdated policies to provide a more fair and inclusive service to all prospective tenants.
