Office Hours: Boss Encounters - Monday, June 19, 2023 at 4PM PT

Office Hours is an opportunity to join the player discussion on topics we're actively collecting feedback on. Join @Roshen and @Vaknar over in the Ashes of Creation Discord for a voice chat during our next Community Office Hours on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 4PM PT (convert to your local time). This event should last about one hour.

This is not a Q&A session. For this session, we will be using Discord Stage. Every 8 minutes, we’ll be bringing up small groups of players to participate in one of the discussion prompts on this topic.



DISCUSSION TOPIC

The main topic of discussion for this office hours will be boss encounters, including the cyclops open world boss. This is based on what we shared during the May 2023 Development Update Livestream.

In this session, we’ll break each of the 8 minute segments up to focus on one of these conversations:

• General Cyclops Combat - How do you feel about Tumok the Wretched encounter? This is an open world boss encounter designed to introduce players early to the idea of raids.
• Raid Encounters - From other games, what do you enjoy most about raid encounters? Feel free to provide examples from those games.
• Boss Mechanics - What are your favorite mechanics for boss encounters? What boss encounter mechanics do you like least? This can be for groups or raids.
• Open World Raiding - What are you excited about for open world raiding, and what are your concerns? What have other games done well, and what are areas of improvement?
• Large Creatures Impact on Environment - As seen during the livestream, Tumok the Wretched interacts with the environment. One example is him knocking down trees. How do you feel about this, knowing it can impact things like Land Management?
