Jaipur: Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma launched the Niramay Rajasthan campaign, Monday, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Fit India Movement. Focused on disease prevention and holistic well-being, the campaign was inaugurated at the Rajasthan International Centre on World Health Day, alongside several major health initiatives.
Among these was Mission Madhuhari, India's first dedicated programme for Type-1 diabetes care under the National Health Mission. Initially piloted in Jaipur, Nagaur, Udaipur, and Jodhpur, it will now be expanded statewide. Also launched was the Mukhyamantri Ayushman Adarsh Gram Panchayat Yojana, under which Gram Panchayats achieving 100% health indicators will receive Rs 11 lakh as incentive.
Other key initiatives included the flagging off of 24 mobile medical units called Ram Rath, 10 advanced life support ambulances, and the inauguration of 29 Lactation Management Centres (LMCs) across 12 medical college hospitals and 17 district hospitals. Sharma stressed the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for infants' overall development.
While addressing the doctors, Sharma said, "In the area where you are working, the patient sees you as God. He comes to you when he is in trouble, so I want to say that our behavior should be good with them. Half the disease is cured with simplicity and gentleness."
The campaign also saw the launch of the Eat Right Rajasthan initiative to curb junk food consumption, Mission Liver Smile to combat fatty liver disease, and new Ayush treatment packages. A mobile app for the CM Ayushman Arogya Yojana was also introduced.
