Bear Closure - Rockwall Trail & Peter Lougheed Discovery Centre Meadow
- Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
- Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
- Keep your pet on a leash.
- Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible and know how to use it.
- Secure attractants like food, garbage, pet food and any scented items in hard sided vehicles or bear proof lockers.
- Learn more about bear safety.

Construction Closure - Elkwood Campground Amphitheatre, Parking & Trail
- A noise restriction for construction will be in place with the quiet hours of 4pm-10am.
- No construction will be permitted on weekends, statutory holidays or on Fridays past 2pm.

Where: Elkwood Campground , Peter Lougheed Paved Trail , Elkwood Campground Amphitheatre and Parking Lot
Details:Amphitheatre refurbishment is scheduled to occur at Elkwood Campground in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. Construction is anticipated from September 1, 2025 to January 30, 2026 (subject to change/weather dependent).
From September 1 (construction commencement) to October 13, 2025 (when the campground closes for the season):To facilitate construction activities, the Elkwood Amphitheatre and adjacent pathway will be closed to visitors. Heavy equipment will be working on-site. We recognize construction is inconvenient, however it is necessary to uphold public safety and to support construction efficiency. Please ensure you follow all signage posted on-site, do not cross construction barriers and keep a safe distance from the active work zone.
Follow the direction of all signage and personnel in the area and stay out of active construction zones.

Details:Minor amphitheatre refurbishment is scheduled to occur at Boulton Campground in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. Construction is anticipated from July 2 to August 5, 2025 (subject to change / weather dependent).

Details:Frequent bear activity has been noted along Valleyview Road from Elpoca Day Use Area to HWY 40 (South) near Little Highwood Day Use Area, including Valleyview Day Use Areas.
