Two Wheels for Meals with Rosemary Shrager - Hendy Foundation
1-18 June
Rosemary’s Two Wheels for Meals Cycle Challenge takes place in 1-18 June with Rosemary cycling almost 450 miles from Lands End to the White Cliffs of Dover. Two Wheels for Meals with Rosemary Shrager is raising money for food poverty with proceeds raised through donations and auctions set to be distributed by Hendy Foundation to food poverty charities, such as food banks, food pantries and food recycling organisations.
Food poverty in the UK has increased dramatically over the past few years, particularly due to the cost of living crisis; with over 11% of the UK population in households experiencing food poverty; including 17% of children. (GOV.UK Sept 2024).
Rosemary is passionate about food, and these shocking statistics are the reason that Rosemary is raising vital funds to help people suffering from food poverty. Her cycle training began last year and she is confident that she will complete the journey in just over 2 weeks, stopping off at various points along the way to meet supporters and offer some cookery demonstrations.
Rosemary's journey will start at Land's End, and take her through picturesque Dartmoor, around Exeter, across in to Dorset, Salisbury, Winchester and finally across the South Downs, into her home town of Royal Tunbridge Wells, and finally to her destination of the iconic White Cliffs of Dover.
Supporting Rosemary means you are supporting thousands of people who simply need this most basic necessity in life - food.
