The iPhone, presented by Steve Jobs on January 9, 2007, marked a milestone in the tech industry with its innovative design, although still unfinished.
Since then, Apple has evolved its product line, but Jobs’ dream of an ‘all-screen’ iPhone remains unfulfilled.
However, the company is expected to finally unveil this design in 2027, coinciding with the twentieth anniversary of the launch of the first model.

Over the years, the company has been adapting its design, moving from the Home button to the notch and the dynamic island. Despite these improvements, there is still a lack of a device with a completely clean screen.
According to reports, Apple aims to integrate the selfie camera and facial recognition sensors directly beneath the display, an ambitious goal that now seems achievable in the medium term, with an eye on the anticipated 2027 model.
The next iteration, the iPhone 18, is expected to adopt a hybrid design, incorporating a hole in the screen to place the camera and sensors. However, this technology had been explored years ago without success, which has generated skepticism regarding its viability.
Many manufacturers, such as ZTE, who had bet on under-display cameras, have withdrawn from this idea due to the technical challenges it entails.
Additionally, it is rumored that Apple plans to change its annual release schedule, which could include the surprise of a foldable iPhone in the future.
These changes in the launch strategy, according to reports from The Information, could allow Apple to introduce new models, thus expanding its product line beyond the traditional iPhones we all know.
