On 27th April 2025, I will be running the London Marathon – a challenge I’ve been working towards for over a year now, with one very important reason in mind: to honour the memory of my big sister, Jade.

Jade was the light of my life, and in December 2023, we tragically lost her after a courageous 9-month battle with cervical cancer. She was my biggest cheerleader, and it breaks my heart knowing she won’t be there at the finish line cheering me on. But I know, deep down, that she would’ve wanted nothing more than to see me cross that line, and that thought has kept me going, especially when the road got tough.

In March 2024, I suffered a stress fracture in my right shin, which meant I had to defer my entry to the marathon. It was a difficult blow, but I’ve never been more determined to run this race – not just for me, but for Jade, and for the amazing work that Hospice Isle of Man does. The care and compassion they showed my sister, and our family, during her final weeks were indescribable. Their support was invaluable, and I want to give back in any way I can.

I’m incredibly proud to be able to take part in this marathon in my sister’s memory. This will be my victory lap for her – a moment to celebrate her life and the incredible woman she was. It’s also a moment to raise funds for Hospice Isle of Man, an organisation that helps families like mine during the most difficult times.
