Congratulations to Mohloki from Babcock in Sasolburg, who has been awarded the Babcock Safety Star for April 2025.
Operating in an exceptionally confined and challenging environment, Mohloki recently demonstrated remarkable expertise while handling a 400-ton Babcock crane during a critical boiler replacement project.
Tasked with the removal and replacement of an 80-ton Tech Boiler, Mahlangu successfully executed five crane relocations—each involving the use of 140-ton counterweights in areas with limited access. His precision, calm under pressure and continuous communication with the lifting team ensured that the complex operation was completed safely and efficiently.
Thanks to his skill and commitment, the project was completed three days ahead of schedule—an impressive accomplishment that underscores the value of experience, planning and a safety-first mindset.
In recognition of his outstanding contribution, Mahlangu received a Certificate of Recognition for his role in promoting safe, effective execution on site.
