Council approves Amending Agreement to move Cedar Crescent Village forward
Last night, Council approved an Amending Agreement for 2706913 Ontario Inc. to continue momentum on the construction of Cedar Crescent Village (CCV) at the Port Elgin Main Beach.
The amending agreement extends building permit deadlines by approximately 10 months allowing work to continue on site and defines a total completion date of September 14, 2026. Council also approved Libro Credit Union as the Leasehold Mortgagee for the Cedar Crescent Village Development. The full report can be found on the February 24 Council agenda.
“I am excited to see new enhancements and services at our waterfront contributing to a vibrant, welcoming and accessible experience for residents and visitors alike,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau. “The construction of Cedar Crescent Village will add further offerings to our waterfront in Port Elgin, supporting our community’s growth, development and vision for the future.”
The CCV development has come forward following several years of public consultation resulting in the ultimate design and offerings at the Port Elgin Waterfront. Within the two-building facility will be space for a restaurant, washrooms, ice cream store, gamespace and market area. The buildings and surrounding land will serve as an anchor for The Town's Waterfront Master Plan, emphasizing pedestrian and active movement. It will also serve as the beginning of a larger opportunity to reorganize the area, to make land use, transportation and parking more efficient and more accessible.
