FedEx is opening two logistics hubs close to its existing sites in Atherstone and Marston Gate as part of a strategic move to improve its UK network.

The transport company said it would mean consolidating its existing hub infrastructure from five hubs into two new facilities and they are anticipated to be operational by 2029.

“We are excited about plans to renew our hub infrastructure in the UK and commit in the creation of two new delivery hubs,” said Rob Peto, VP operations, FedEx.

“This is a substantial commitment into the UK and will mean we’re well positioned for future growth with a dynamic, flexible and efficient end-to-end network.

“It will also present exciting opportunities for our team members over the long term and further enhance the service we deliver to our customers.”

FedEx added that while there would be no changes for employees in the short term, the multi-year project would affect working locations for some team members across its hubs.
