Henrico County Police Division’s South Station opened at 640 N. Airport Drive in early 2025. The 20,000 square-foot space in the Varina District replaced the smaller Fair Oaks Station, which had operated out of leased space for nearly 20 years. “This is the community’s South Station,” Deputy Chief of Support Services Todd Alvis said. “We work for the citizens of Henrico County. ... It is their police station. We are here to serve them.” Among South Station’s state-of-the-art accommodations are offices and community rooms, a 911 training center for the Department of Emergency Communications and 5,000 square feet of classroom and training space for Henrico Police’s K-9 division.
