"It is only natural for ING Private Banking and Wealth Management to join forces with Zoute Grand Prix to revive the Zoute Concours d'Elegance. After all, we share the same dna." - Peter Adams, CEO ING Belgium
COMEBACK ZOUTE CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE BY ING PRIVATE BANKING
"Thanks to ING Private Banking, we can fulfil our big dream to once again add a concours d'Elégance with international allure to the programme of the Zoute Grand Prix." - Koen Van Hout (CEO Zoute Grand Prix)
Peter Adams (CEO ING Belgium) & Koen Van Hout (CEO Zoute Grand Prix)
How pleased are you with this return?
Koen Van Hout: For me personally, it was one of the main items on my 'wish list' during the first days of my appointment as CEO of Zoute Grand Prix. I recently read on the ING Private Banking website that their goal is to make their customers' dreams come true. Well, then they have already succeeded perfectly in making our dream and that of a lot of car enthusiasts come true. Thanks to ING Private Banking, on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 October 2025 at the Approach Golf in Knokke-Heist, just 500 metres from the Albertplein, we will once again be able to welcome the 'crème de la crème' of the automotive world to the Zoute Concours d'Elégance by ING Private Banking.
Why the choice to attach your name to this event?
Peter Adams: It is only natural for ING Private Banking and Wealth Management to join forces with Zoute Grand Prix to revive the Zoute Concours d'Elégance. After all, we share the same dna. ING Private Banking and Wealth Management likes to invest to offer its customers a prestigious experience, and our Wealth Managers - reserved for customers with assets of 5 million euros or more - always strive for excellence in their advice.
Koen Van Hout: That's absolutely right. We are already looking forward to offering the top customers of ING Private Banking an unforgettable experience, both culinary and in terms of automotive 'eye candy' we are aiming for the very highest level in the various categories. We will go into more detail shortly, but I would like to give you a hint. In the 'Forgotten Brands' category, we are looking for brands that are no longer produced today, but used to be very successful. With the pre-war open Sports (1920-40) and the post-war Sports (1945-1960), we have two classics on the menu and, of course, we will also pay attention to the Iconic Cars (1976-2005) at the competition.

Do you guys see any common ground?
Peter Adams: The rare classic cars participating in the Zoute Concours d'Elégance by ING Private Banking have been carefully selected by a selection committee based on their historical value, craftsmanship and timeless design. These iconic cars have stood the test of time and are as beautiful today as they were in the past - just as our Private Bankers and Wealth Managers plot out strategies that transcend generations. We build independent investment portfolios like a timeless vintage car: durable, coherent and resistant to the vagaries of the market.
Koen Van Hout: I completely agree. A classic car is not only an excellent investment. It is also an art object. We are working together here to preserve an important piece of artistic patrimony and automotive heritage.

Peter Adams: That's absolutely right. Moreover, a tastefully restored classic car tells something about its owner. The same applies to our financial solutions. Every advisory process starts from a client's unique situation: their entrepreneurial story, their family, their vision for the future. A discreet sale of a family business requires something different from a gradual transfer to the next generation. Our Private Bankers and Wealth Managers tailor their advice accordingly and follow the trajectory through time. Of course, they do not work alone. Just as a racing team or a restoration crew includes a motorbike expert and a bodybuilder, our Private Bankers and Wealth Managers are supported by investment portfolio managers and wealth and succession planners. It's a team effort. On that front, too, I see a lot of common ground with the Zoute Grand Prix. Two 'high-performing' companies with strong individuals in the right place.

ING has historically always had a strong connection with Knokke-Heist, hasn't it?
Peter Adams: ING and ING Private Banking and Wealth Management have deep roots in Knokke-Heist. ING was one of the first banks to settle here, and has never left. ING Private Banking and Wealth Management has already invited its customers to numerous unique events including golf and tennis. Like the Zoute Concours d'Elégance, ING Knokke-Heist has never forgotten. I want to stress that we are here as a partner to stay, and our commitment to local life and the local economy will be stronger and more intense than ever before. And local is always relative at Knokke-Heist, because here a quality of people comes together from all corners of the world, which you won't find anywhere else in Belgium.
How does ING look to the future?
Peter Adams: The new chapter in ING Belgium's strategy is called 'Together for Progress'. ING's ambition is to become the reference investment bank in Belgium. Increasing the financial capability of our customers is one of the priorities in this new vision. We are convinced that it is our duty of care to help customers invest. Our secret recipe for being the best private bank in Belgium consists of three key ingredients: independence, personalisation and universality.
Independent advice for solid investment solutions, personalised according to your preferences. All your financial needs, personal and entrepreneurial, integrated into one banking experience.
What makes ING Private Banking so unique?
Peter Adams: In investment, ING is the largest and first independent house in Belgium. There are universal banks that offer integrated solutions but do not actually provide independent investment advice. At the other end of the spectrum, there are independent investment houses, which in turn, however, do not have the balance sheet to offer integrated solutions for your family as well as your business in one place. Our Private Bankers and Wealth Managers remain closely involved with changing life stages, new family or business contexts and legislative developments. It is this proactivity, combined with a highly personalised service and always being available, that sets us apart from a traditional banking relationship.
Koen Van Hout: I can only listen to that with admiration. Powerful and clear outlines, which we can fully identify with. A real 'match made in heaven' as far as I'm concerned. We are already looking forward to bringing this top clientele together with the cream of the automotive crop.
