The first Long Island All-American lacrosse event will pit the top girls from Suffolk County against Nassau County this weekend. Five games will be played at Mitchell Field Athletic Complex in Uniondale, starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Each game will feature some of the top players in their respective grades, from recent graduates of the Class of 2014 to incoming freshmen in the Class of 2018.

Five girls from Shoreham were selected, as was one Mattituck player.

Shannon Rosati, who recently graduated from Shoreham-Wading River High School, will play in the Class of 2014 game at 5 p.m. Rosati was a standout midfielder for the Wildcats and will attend Ohio State University in the fall.

Lauren Daly, a goalkeeper who has committed to Boston College, will play on the Suffolk 2015 team. The Wildcats have three girls on the 2017 team: midfielder Sophia Triandafils, defenseman Samantha Higgins and attackman Jessie Arline.

Katie Hoeg, a junior from Mattituck High School who has committed to the University of North Carolina, was selected for the Suffolk 2016 team.

Each team is made up of 24 players. Teams are coached by former standout players from Long Island.
