A Denver police officer has been placed on administrative leave, pending an investigation into sexual assault allegations.

Last week, the Denver district attorney’s office declined to prosecute Officer Travis Jackson after reviewing the facts of the case, said Lynn Kimbrough, the DA’s spokeswoman.

The case involved allegations of sexual assault, Kimbrough said, but she did not have further details. The facts presented to a chief deputy DA did not support criminal charges, she said.

Jackson was placed on leave on July 9, said Sonny Jackson, police spokesman. An administrative investigation is pending to determine whether the officer violated department regulations. Travis Jackson is a patrolman in District 1, which covers the northwest part of the city. He was hired at the department in 2000, said Sonny Jackson, who is not related.
