Laird Ronan Daziel takes Sorcha to his castle to protect her and give her a home. Before long, he wants much more. He's duty-bound to take a wife whose clan wishes an alliance with his. So why does he long to have something more? Everyone loves the lass as much as he does. But he has pledged his loyalty to his clan. Taking Sorcha to wife could lead to battle on several fronts. How can he wed another when she stole his heart from the first moment he laid eyes on her near the ancient standing stones on his lands?

The Highlander's Charm by Eliza Knight

They should be enemies… But passion and love know no bounds.

Returning from battle to England, Samuel de Mowbray discovers that his two younger sisters have been stolen by Highlanders. Determined to save them from vicious warriors, he convinces the king to send him north. While there, he discovers that his loyalties are wavering and that a headstrong, feisty lass could destroy everything he believes.

Catriona Buchanan must travel north to ask for help in saving her brother and ridding her castle of brutal English knights. Unfortunately, to do so, she must trust in the thing she mistrusts the most—an Englishman. Minute by minute, the man who should be her enemy breaks down her defenses. There is something different about him and she can’t help but be captivated by Samuel, and his steamy kisses.

Heart of Stone by Willa Blair

Riding home after two years away, Gavan MacNabb encounters a lass and her deerhound in a moonlit circle of standing stones. Little does he know the garland of bluebells she weaves and the spell she sings will change the course of his life.

Marsali Murray doesn’t really believe the old wives’ tale that making a chain of bluebells by the standing stones under a waxing moon will bring true love, but she’s desperate to try anything to escape the boring, everlasting sameness of her life.

Gavan has already seen much of the world denied to Marsali. He’s ready to settle down. She is eager to spread her wings. Can they find what they need with each other?

Kilts and Kisses by Victoria Roberts

Since the deaths of her parents, Ceana Gunn has lived in the shadow of her uncle and his family. She wants nothing more than to see her clan the way it was when her father was still laird. But her uncle has other ideas. Ceana soon discovers that the only refuge to be found is in the last place she expects—the arms of her enemy.

Luthais MacKay wants to be left alone. His only interest is training his prized hawks. He certainly doesn’t have time to listen to the petty squabbling of his clan when his father travels to Edinburgh and leaves him in charge. But when Luthais discovers a mysterious woman on his lands, he’s determined to unravel her secrets…one layer at a time.

My Captive Highlander by Vonda Sinclair

Kissing the Highlander
Five new highland novellas by bestselling Authors of highland romance, Terry Spear, Eliza Knight, Willa Blair, Victoria Roberts & Vonda Sinclair.

Each story captures your heart and transports you to a magical time in the Scottish highlands. These novellas are filled with mystery, intrigue and beautifully written romance and highland magic. Each story introduces you to a strong, tall, sexy highlander, who defends his clan and protects what he loves. In a time when a man said 'I love you', he loved you fiercely and forever.

Book 1: His Wild Highland Lass by Terry Spear.
Lady Sorcha was given to her sister's husband as part of her sister's dowry. When Sorcha's brother by law makes unwanted and serious advances toward her, she takes her horse and flees. This clever lass sleeps in a tree, but soon finds herself walking after her horse is stolen. Laird Ronan Daziel is riding across his land with his two brothers when he spots Sorcha. Ronan's efforts to get this lovely lady to trust him and allow him to take her to his castle for food and shelter, becomes quit comical. Soon sparks fly between Ronan and Sorcha and a touch sends heated passion between them and neither one can deny it.
Can love conquer all?
I truly enjoyed this story and this couple's journey of love in the midst of the highlands. A wonderful read that will delight you. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book 2: The Accidental Highland Hero by Eliza Knight.
Having read Eliza Knights's Stolen Bride Series, I was extremely excited to read Samuel's story. Samuel de Mowbray has been away from England, fighting in France. When he returns home, he discovers his father is away and his sisters are somewhere in the highlands. Fearing his sisters are in the hands of viscous warlords, Samuel convinces the King to send him to Scotland. As Samuel uses this mission to locate his sisters and bring them safely back to England, something unexpected happens. Lady Catriona Buchanan's home has been attacked by the English. Her brother is beaten and she fears the English will kill him and confiscate her keep, taking from her everything she holds dear. Lady Catriona needs to travel north, deep into the highlands to her relatives and bring back help to save her brother's life and their home. This adventure north is a perfect opportunity for Samuel and Catriona to put aside their localities and come together in their efforts to reach the highlands. Samuel needs a guide to lead him into the highlands and Catriona realizes she needs Samuel's protection. Author Eliza Knight describes castles and landscapes in such intricate detail, I find myself back in time, walking through the castle, feeling the stone beneath my feet as I climb the stairs or sneak into a secret passage. A beautiful story of a true knight in shinning armor, demonstrating a code of honor, as Samuel protects Catriona on this journey where desire turns into a beautiful love. An absolute must read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book 3: Heart of Stone by Willa Blair.
Gaven McNabb has been away from home for two years. A man with an adventurous spirit, he's now heading home to the highlands, when he hears a woman singing. Drawn by her sweet sounding voice, he moves closer and discovers she is even more breathtakingly beautiful than her lovely voice. Marsali Murray is encompassed by the light of the full moon as she sits in the midst of the circle of stones, weaving a garland of bluebells. Marsali is so engrossed in weaving the bluebells and singing a spell to bring true love into her life, she doesn't immediately notice, her loyal deerhound has become instantly attached to a stranger, a man. Gaven cannot believe a young, beautiful lass is here at night, alone at the standing stones with only a dog for protection. An instant connection sparks between them as their eyes meet. Marsali feels in her heart that Gavin is the one man, her only chance to escape her circumstances. The sparks between them ignite an undeniable interest, but Gaven already has a lass waiting for him at home. Gaven cannot deny the desire and feelings Marsali's ignites in him, but he isn't free to act upon such feelings. He needs to return home and see if the woman he is promised to has indeed been waiting for him these last two years, maybe she has moved on and then he will be free to pursue what Marsali stirs in his heart and body. There is another lovable character in this story, Corrie the deerhound. Corrie becomes determined to push Gaven and Marsali together forever. Corrie is an incredibly intuitive deerhound and definitely on a quest. I found myself delighting in Gaven and Marsali's love story and my heart deeply touched by a deerhound named Corrie. Did the circle of stones cast a bit of magic on Corrie and call upon this deerhound to bring two people together for true love. With a little highland magic, anything is possible. I loved this story. A must read and now amongst my favorites. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book 4: Kilts and Kisses by Victoria Roberts.
This story was a complete delight to read. Set in 1607 in the highlands of Scotland, we meet Ceanna and her sister Anna. With a little Scottish twist on a Cinderella story, Author Victoria Roberts takes her readers on a delightful journey of love. Ceanna and Anna were once the daughters of their Clan's Laird and Lady, but since the murder of their parents two years prior, their Uncle and new Laird dismiss these girls as if they are two lowly mouths to feed. Now their cousin Sorcha is the Laird's daughter and a more spoiled and selfish person, she could not be. Sorcha and her mother spend outlandish amounts of money on new gowns, but never consider that Ceanna and Anna haven't had anything new in two years. Sorcha demands all the fuss and limelight, while the sweet, kind natured sisters Ceanna and Anna are treated with disdain. As the new Laird, Sorcha's father host lavish dinners, inviting all the best men to come meet his daughter in hope for a great match. Ceanna discovers her younger sister Anna is in love with a handsome guard named Samuel. Seeing how happy her sister is, Ceanna begins to ponder her own future. Needing time alone, Ceanna goes to her favorite spot in the highlands to contemplate her future. How can she possibly change her circumstances. Luthais MacKay enjoyed the peaceful tranquility of the standing stones, he has since he was a young boy. Next in line to be Laird, Luthais doesn't like the way his father tries to control his life. Now his father has decided it is time for Luthais to marry, so Luthais seeks out the peaceful solitude of the standing stones to contemplate his future. This time when Luthais reaches the stones, someone else is in his favorite spot. Not just anyone, but a beautiful lass with vibrant emerald eyes. Finding himself struck by her beauty and curious as to why she is sitting here all alone, on his lands no less, he approaches. Ceanna just sought peace and quiet, but that is now intruded upon by a man. What was she thinking coming here. Ceanna quickly apologizes to the man for her intrusion on his lands and quickly seeks her mount and leaves. Neither Ceanna or Luthais can dismiss thoughts of meeting one another and both return to the stones, hoping for more encounters. Will the magic of the stones be enough to conquer all the challenges that lay before them. Will they together find their happily ever after. After the last two years and the horrible treatment by her Aunt, Uncle and especially her cousin Sorcha, Ceanna truly deserves love and happiness. Can Sorcha redeem her wicked nature and help Ceanna get her heart's desire with Luthais. Can Luthais' overbearing father open his eyes and see the heart of his son and goodness within. You must read this enchanting story and discover these answers. Author Victoria Roberts has written a truly lovely story and provides her readers a beautiful escape into the magic of the highlands. I found myself wanting to pack a suitcase and head to Scotland, to touch the stones and walk the beautiful highlands. A breathtaking story and I cannot wait to read more from this author. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book 5: My Captive Highlander by Vonda Sinclair.
If you don't know this, Author Vonda Sinclair is truly one of my favorite authors. Her love and knowledge of Scotland comes shinning through in everything she writes. My Captive Highlander is another perfect example of this author's incredible gift of storytelling.
Shamus MacKenzie, along with his brothers and clans men are traveling on a twenty-oar Berlin back to their home, when a horrible storm hits the sea and crashes Shamus's vessel against the rocks. Cut, bruised and in horrible pain, Shamus awakes on shore, only to be beaten and taken prisoner by guards of an enemy clan. His saving grace is the beautiful sister of the MacDonald Chief. Maili truly can't stand her brother's evil ways. Although she must obey him as her Chief, his greed and bloodlust disgust Maili. When she sees her brother's men drag a battered and beaten prisoner into the keep, she feels compelled to help this man. Maili soon realizes Shamus is the same man from the vision she had the previous night. Her brother and his despicable guards call her a witch, Maili knows she isn't a witch, but does have the gift of sight. Maili gets her brother to agree to let her take the clan's healer to the dungeon and attend Shamus's wounds. She then begins sneaking food into the dungeon for Shamus and soon the two of them come to know one another in those few stolen moments each day. As Shamus's wounds begin to heal and the swelling in his face goes down, Maili is struck by how handsome he is. She not only finds herself drawn to Shamus but utterly and completely attracted to him, something Maili has never experienced before. Shamus is so attracted to Maili's beauty, kindness and compassion that his desire for her grows stronger and stronger during every brief encounter. All he can think about is touching her, kissing her luscious lips. What is he thinking, this can never work between them. Maili is the sister of the enemy, the man who beat and imprisoned him. Shamus must remain focused on escaping, but Maili's presence ignites something in him, he just can't ignore. Maili wants desperately to escape her brother's tyranny and the disgusting old man her brother has ordered her to marry. Shamus is her ticket out of a dreadful and frightening future, but he's also so much more than that to Maili. After Maili has another vision, one of pure terror and destruction to her clan, she realizes Shamus's brothers are coming for him and she and Shamus plot an escape, hoping to save themselves and the destruction of her clan. Will Shamus and Maili's plan succeed. Will they find their way to freedom from her brother's brutal control and discover what lies between them is so much more than passion and desire. This is another must read by Author Vonda Sinclair. You will be swept off your feet in this beautiful, romantic tale of passion, romance and intrigue. Written with gorgeous detail, you see the Isles of Scotland, the stormy clouds over the sea, the magical circle of stones and so much more as you go on this highland adventure. Author Vonda Sinclair has an incredible ability to take her readers across Scotland on grand adventures and My Captive Highlander is a grand and romantic adventure I want to read over and over again. I was so captivated by this story, I hope the author writes a story for each MacKenzie brother. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you like historical romance I highly recommend this boxed set. Each book was most enjoyable.

His Wild Highland Lass: Sorcha has fled her Brother-in-law's land in hopes she can find a way to permanently stay away. She is found by Ronan and he takes her to his keep. She falls in love the people and wants to stay. The man she wants, Ronan is giving off signals he's not the one so her mission is to find herself a husband. The more Ronan thwarts any of her attempts soon causes sparks to fly between the two. Problem Ronan needs to marry someone to help make an alliance for his clan.

The Highlander's Charm: Samuel is looking for his two sisters who were taken by highlanders. Catriona's home is over taken by the English now she must rely on Samuel to help reach the help she needs in return she must help him find what has happened to his missing sisters. They should be enemies, but once sparks fly it doesn't matter who they are. Danger is lurking will it be too late for the both of them?

Heart of Stone: Marsali gives the old wives tale of weaving bluebells a shot to find her one true love. Gavan just happens to cross her path at that moment. Her deerhound Corrie who doesn't take to strangers has a obsession of following Gavan. Can Marsali and Gavan have any kind of future when Marsali's father is ready to pick a husband for her. This one was my favorite out of the boxed set.

Kilts and Kisses: Ceana's life has not been good since the death pf her parents. Her uncle and cousin have made her and her sister's life miserable. Fate finally shows her some happiness when Luthais comes into her life. Everyone has wanted him to settle down, but he has no urge to do so until he meets the mysterious Ceana. A lot of assumptions and misunderstandings in this one leads to actions they wish they could undue. Will Ceana and Luthais have a future when soon Luthais finds himself betrothed to another? This was my second favorite book in the boxed set.

My Captive Highlander: Shamus is captured by the MacDonalds. but fate is in his favore when the laird's sister Maili aids Shamus when he is imprisoned. The two bond, but can Shamus convince Maili to help escape because once Shamus' brother finds out he has been held for ransom a war will be coming.

KISSING THE HIGHLANDER anthology

by Terry Spear, Eliza Knight, Willa Blair, Victoria Roberts, and Vonda Sinclair

RELEASE DATE: February 10, 2015

KISSING THE HIGHLANDER is an anthology consisting of five Highland historical romance storylines set in the 1600s of the Scottish Highlands. Some of the tales are steeped in Scottish brogues, superstitions and legends of fae, witches and magic. Most of the storylines reference a circle of Standing Stones where legends are born and magic ensues. Because of their fast paced, short length each relationship is a story of insta-love or one of immediate attraction where in the end each of our couples will get their happily ever after. All five short stories can be read as a standalone novella within each respective series but Victoria Roberts’s KILTS AND KISSES ends on a slight cliff hanger leaving the reader wanting to know what happens next.

All of the relationships are love matches; the $ex scenes are intimate without graphic imagery; there is some violence but not vivid. All five authors pull the reader into the sweeping Highlands where green pastures and blue skies make way for building romance between warring clans. Five short stories where Highlanders find their one true love. You can never go wrong with a Highlander !!

I have two favorites with these stories. The first is Kilts and Kisses by Victoria Roberts. The second is His Wild Highland by Terry Spear.

These two stories sweep me away to the Highlands into a time I wish I lived. Since I cannot travel back into time I relish works well written by authors similar to Roberts and Spear to take me back.

For me the best is the Scottish Garlic in the story by Roberts. This really helped to bring the story to life for me.

For these two stories alone I highly recommend this book.

The bunnies and I give this book 5 carrots

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. All views are my own and do not reflect those of the author, my clients or tour companies I work with. This is not a paid review. To form your own opinion please support the author and acquire your own legal copy of the book.

Kissing the Highlander is a beautiful selection of novella's that are well written, exciting, captivating and ever so romantic.

1. His Wild Highland Lass by Terry Spear ***3 Stars
Sorcha runs from her home because of unwanted advances from her brother in law. Ronan finds he and takes her in but has to keep his distance because as Laird he needs to make a politically advantageous match. Sorcha doesn't give up though and is constantly trying to get his attention. This was very cute. Not great, not he best characters but it was short so it never strayed from being just a cute and satisfying read.

2. The Highlander's Charm (Stolen Bride #9) by Eliza Knight ****4 Stars
Samuel returns from France finding his sisters gone and presumably taken by some savage highlanders. Catriona's home has been taken over by some less than reputable Englishmen. They decide to work together to save his sisters and her castle. Along the way their initial attraction grows with admiration and respect. This was really cute...and even though it was too short for the love to be a slow burn it definitely developed. These characters were great and really just made you want to read more.

3. Heart of Stone by Willa Blair **2 Stars
Marsali performs a spell to bring her true love to her so she can escape an unwanted marriage. Gavan happens by on their way home. Marsali follows him home and wants to marry him...he wants to marry him too but won't admit it. This was ok, just kinda flat.

4. Kilts & Kisses (#1) by Victoria Roberts **2 Stars
Ceana's parents were killed 2 years ago and ever since she and her sister Anna have been very poorly treated by their aunt, uncle and cousin. Luthais is the son of a Laird who does not always live up to his fathers expectations. They meet by chance and a classic case of mistaken identity ensues. This was ok...had some sweet moments...had some moments that I think were supposed to be funny....and one of the characters had the most unbelievable change of hearts that I have ever read.

5. My Captive Highlander (Highland Adventure #7) by Vonda Sinclair ****4 Stars
After his boat is destroyed at sea, Shamus washes up in enemy territory and held hostage for ransom. Maili has visions and feels like she needs to help Shamus but worries about her older brother's cruelty. They have to sneak around to see each other and have to out maneuver the hatred their clans have for each other. Maili and Shamus were both likeable characters and I enjoyed the writing as well.

This is a review for Vonda Sinclair's contribution to the "Kissing the Highlander" anthology, "My Captive Highlander". I'll post the reviews for the remaining stories as time permits!
Shipwrecked and captured, Shamus finds only one ray of light in his dark world... the sister of his capture. Maili refuses to let the hostage starve and begs her foolhardy brother for his release, she's seen the bloodshed that his plan will bring upon their clan. In an effort to keep her premonitions from becoming reality, Maili helps the Mackenzie warrior escape his cell... with the stipulation that he take her with him. Will they both be able to escape to safety?

Each story was good. Insta-love is difficult to avoid in a novella especially when magic is also part of the mix but it was well done in every case. Terry Spear was a "new to me" author and I will look for more of her stories. I wonder what the Scots think of this sub-genre? I'm sure it has increased travel. Me, I want to see the Highlands.

Romantic Scottish tales

Romance, hot Scotland lads and lairds. Short and sweet tales of local lore and standing stones. Page turning excitement and romantic heroes . Great for all the romantics out there.

I enjoyed all five stories, but they were not clean. Too many graphic details. Should have done more research before buying.

His Wild Highland Lass by Terry Spear

This was a good short story, with a little bit of angst on Ronan’s part and Sorcha knowing exactly who she wanted. Other characters were good but some had some really strange names: Ward (normal name) Alban (a little strange) Ita (really strange) and Abboid (very, very strange name)…
I did like Elspeth, her name was not too strange, but they named their new baby a decent name, Lena.
The sex in this book was very nicely written. There wasn’t too much or too little and there was sexual tension, which makes the sex better, rather than having no thoughts, feelings, urges, wants, nothing. Then suddenly there’s sex. Geez, I just hate that. 4 stars

The Highlander’s Charm By Eliza Knight

So, you’re in a castle, keep, whatever, in Scotland, in the winter. You’re in a room with no fireplace, no heat of any kind and you’re sleeping on the floor. The chances of Samuel taking off his tunic and wadding it up so he’ll have a pillow and leaving himself bare-chested, IS SLIM TO NONE!!! I can stretch my imagination as far as the next person but that is just stupid.
However, that being said this was a great short story. Loved Samuel and Catriona. Liked Gregor, as little as he was in the story, glad he was ok when they took the castle back. And it’s always nice to see characters from other books: Arbella, Magnus, Myra, Daniel, etc. The bad guy Geoffrey was a real douche-bag. Some great sex in this book, too. 4 stars

Heart of Stone by Willa Blair

This was just barely ok read for me. There was absolutely no desire or passion whatsoever and that makes for a somewhat boring storyline. I kinda’ liked Gavan and Marsali (kept thinking of chicken Marsala) but there really was nothing going on. And Marsali was thinking of a kiss from Gavan but for the life of me I just can’t remember him kissing her. Maybe it was that un-memorable. OK, further on she tells Gavan that she’s never been kissed so why she was touching her lips and remembering his kiss earlier is beyond me.
And was Fenella ever supposed to be likable? Because she sure wasn’t. If I had been Gavan I’d have told her to get the hell out, not encourage her to go after my brother. I mean, she made it so clear that she wasn’t really interested in him (Gavan) anymore, she wanted more than the second son, so she wanted Keenan..but maybe she wanted Gavan, too, and maybe Gavan still wanted Fenella. What a slut she was and what a jerk he was. She finally made up her mind and went for the heir, Keenan and Gavan finally pulled his head out. At that point, if I was Marsali, I’d have told him to take a hike.
And Groa? WTH kind of name is that? Sure had some ridiculous names in this story, that’s for sure.
So, I can never understand why anyone puts a bundle of books together where there’s sex in some and not in others. This one had no sex or anything close to it so it was, overall, pretty boring. I wouldn’t read this author again. 2 ½ stars

Kilts and Kisses By Victoria Roberts

OK, so I really liked this story. Loved Luthais and Ceana. Liked Anna and Samuel. Aunt Marta was a little goofy but likable. Uncle John was a real bastard and Sorcha was a little bitch until the end, then she was pretty sweet. I liked Doughall but Luthais’s father was kind crappy, in that he went from mentioning to his son that he might should get a wife to getting Luthais one, without the poor guy knowing it. I loved the way the story turned out and the sex was not half bad either. 5 stars

My Captive Highlander By Vonda Sinclair

Somehow I knew this would be my favorite on the bundle. I just loved Shamus and Maili. I loved their escape, recapture, the battle to get them free again, their love and wonderful sex they shared. But, boy, I sure hated that cold, brutal brother of her’s, Elrick. What happened to him should have happened slower. I’d give this story 5 stars.. No, six stars.. Um, no, 8 stars…Yeah, 8 should do it. LOL..

Kissing the Highlander is a wonderfully captivating historical romance anthology by 5 great authors. Each story features a Scottish "hero" and a "damsel in distress".

When the Laird that owns the land the stones are on sees her, he takes her in and offers his protection. The chemistry between Sorcha and Ronan is great. Kilts and Kisses by Victoria Roberts
Ceana has lived in the shadow of her uncle and his family since the death of her family- all she wants is to see things return to the way they were when her father was alive. When she stumbles into enemy territory while seeking solace, she discovers the enemy may not be so bad afterall. When Luthais stumbles upon Ceana while tending to his hawks, he is determined to discover who she is- one kiss at a time. Luthais father longs to see his son married, Ceana's uncle wants rid of both she and her sister- no matter the way. Can their blossoming relationship aide them both?
My Captive Highlander by Vonda Sinclair
Shipwrecked on the west coast of Scotland, Shamus finds himself captured and being ransomed by his enemy. Beaten by the rocks during his galley wreck, he is also beaten severely by his captors. When Maili, aided by her gift of second sight, senses that this stranger will be important to her life, she defies her brother (the clan chief) and sets out to aide Shamus. When Shamus becomes enchanted with the beautiful Maili- who has brought a healer to him and provided him with food- can he convince her to aide him in escaping in order to prevent a bloody battle between the two clans? Can Maili follow her heart and escape with Shamus or is she to stay with her clan and face her despicable brother?
I enjoyed all of these wonderful stories and highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical romances or Scottish Highlanders.

I absolutely loved this book. It’s a great preview to some fabulous authors, and I highly recommend it! All stories involve “the standing stones” and the various legends surrounding it. These stories are fairly short, but they all pack a punch, and left me wanting more.

My favorite story was Kilts and Kisses by Victoria Roberts. Ceana and her sisters are orphans living under their uncle’s care. He became the laird once their father was killed. His daughter is a spoiled brat and treats her cousins horribly. Ceana randomly meets Luthais near the standing stones and they end up meeting a few more times. I don’t want to give away many spoilers here, but I could not put this story down. There was enough suspense and intrigue to keep me up late reading this gem.

My next favorite story was My Captive Highlander by Vonda Sinclair. It is a tale of Lady Maili and her gift of sight. Her brother, the laird, and the rest of her clan think her a witch and are quite mean and condescending to her. She has a vision of a man, someone that will be of great importance to her. That man is Shamus, and he’s from a rival clan, and is taken prisoner after a boating accident. He’s beaten and held for ransom, and she defies her brother to take care of him. I love their passion and devotion to each other throughout all they are put through. A must read!

My next favorite story was His Wild Highland Lass by Terry Spear. Lady Sorcha fled her home after her brother in law tried to seduce her. Her family didn’t want to deal with her any longer, so she was part of the marriage bargain. She ends up running into Laird Ronan Daziel, and his two brothers. He gives her a home and wants to marry her, but he was trying to form an alliance with another clan. The refreshing thing about this story is how the characters are able to admit to themselves, that they are in love with the other.

The Highlanders Charm by Eliza Knight is a great story about the English knight Samuel de Mowbray, and how he saves the spirited Catriona Buchanan from being raped by several English soldiers. He is looking for his sisters, who he thinks that have been kidnapped by Scottish brutes. They make a deal, he’ll get her safely out of the castle, and she will lead him north towards his sisters. They travel and start to fall for each other, and are soon found, coincidentally by one of his sisters and her husband. I really enjoyed the ending and don’t want to spoil it for others.

Heart of Stone is a cute story involving Gaven’s return to his clan from war and discovering the world. He meets the enigmatic Catriona and her deerhound. She is starving for any kind of adventure in her life. They are immediately attracted to each other, but Gaven has a lady waiting on him back home. Catriona is distraught and follows her dog, which is following after Gaven, and ends up running into him again. She wants to visit his clan, and he ends up taking her after some internal debate. His clan ends up falling in love with her, and eventually so does Gaven. I thought the ending was perfect for this story and loved how the fathers worked together to ensure their children’s happiness.

In conclusion, this set is a great value, and all stories are masterfully done. I’d advise you not to pass this set up. I look forward to more stories from each author :)

This was a master piece. Each author worked very hard to make an anthology that would leave all readers breathless. Ronan and Sorcha's story was captivating. She was fierce and had will power to escape from her family because of her Sister's husband who tried to advance on her. Ronan was the perfect gentleman who protected her and gave her shelter.

Samuel in pursue of saving his sister from Highlanders he decides to assist Catriona from being violated by an English man who wasn't going to be showing her any mercy. She fled with him and trusted that he would protect her. She was strong willed to be able to escape the castle with out notice. Glad that love over came background.

Marsali was searching for a husband and believed that if she cast a spell at the standing stones her one true love would fall in love and marry. Corrie her deerhound knew from the moment she say Gavan that he was going to be her husband. Was happy to see another strong will women who went against her father's wishes and made a decision to stay at Gavan's castle in hope that her spell worked. Happy he saw that she was the right women to marry instead of the women that awaited his return home. Glad Marsali didn't let her father manipulate who she must marry.

Truly loved the story between Luthais and Ceana. Loved that her cousin didn't get here way. Ceana and her sister Anna deserved so much more. To have your parents gone and not knowing who murdered them was just hurtful. They were treated like they weren't family in there own home. I should have suspected that there Uncle coould be so dispicable. Happy that Sorcha did the right thing and let her cousin find her happiness.

The story that bothered me the most was the story of Shamus and Maili. It was just heartbreaking to have an innocent man treated so horribly for just being from the clan that was the enemy. Was so happy that Maili helped Shamus by feeding him and trying to escape back to his family. Was so pissed off when they got caught and Maili got punched by her brother. Was glad that his life was ended by the man that loved her the most. Was happy that they got to get married and her older brother wasn't against it.

I truly enjoyed all five stories. They were captivating from the very beginning. Each story had a strong heroine who followed her gut feeling regardless of being truly afraid of the circumstances. I enjoy all the ravishing love scenes. Each character had strong feelings once they spent time with each other. You don't want to miss this amazing read by this amazing Highland Writers.

Kissing the Highlander is an anthology story of Scottish Historical Romance novellas of women who love fierce brawn Highlanders. These stories are written by some of our favorite authors. I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves Scottish genre, highlanders and romance. I loved all the stories from Kisses and Kilts by Victoria Roberts which is one of my favorites it is a story that caught my interest and kept me captivated until the end. It was a sweet love story of a Ceana a young, strong, beautiful and lovable heroine. Luthais Mackay is an adorable hero who wants to be left alone and trains his hawks until he meets Ceana in the standing stones. The Highlander's Charm by Eliza Knight is also one of my favorites Catriona and Samuel are certainly hot, but it's really too close to call. Heart of Stone, Willa Blair’s story is a sweet love story of Gaven and Marsali; he’s ready to settle down and she is eager to spread her wings. My Captive Highlander by Vonda Sinclair is the first book of hers I have read and I must say it was very enjoyable and I can’t wait to read more of her books. Terry Spear’s His Wild Highland Lass was very sweet and toughing story of a laird’s who is duty-bound to take a wife whose clan wishes an alliance with his. All the books were amazing. If you like highlanders and strong females’ characters you'll love this book, each one was so amazing. Each story carries you away to Scotland and captures the magic and mystery of highlands so the reader feels like you are really there.

(Romance is graded on a curve.)
His Wild Highland Lass by Terry Spear is the first novella in this collection: it gets 1.5 stars. Just bad enough to make me not want to continue. We'll see.
Note: after finishing the collection, I can't for the life of me figure out why the editor would place the worst novella first. Other reviewers were put out enough to stop reading right there.
Anyway, I did continue. Story #2 is The Highlanders Charm, a Stolen Brides novella by Eliza Knight. This one is better written, and only slightly annoying, implausible, and flawed with insta-love. 3 stars.
Story number three: Heart of Stone, a Highland Talents prequel by Willa Blair. Quality writing here, a nice story, but it bored me to no end. I happened to read the second book in this series about a year ago, and found that incredibly boring also (1 star for that one). 2.5 stars for this one.
4. Kilts and Kisses (Kilts and Kisses series) by Victoria Roberts. 3.5 stars. The plot is decent, but it's not exactly a page-turner. There's a lot of mention of superstition and magic, so I kept waiting for something in that vein to develop, but nothing really comes of it.
5. My Captive Highlander, The Highland Adventure Series, by Vonda Sinclair. The best of the bunch - 4 stars. The sex scenes in all of these are pretty tame, but they are there.

"...a mysterious sensation swelled within her, like a world full of tingles spiraling through her body, taking her down into pure bliss and then it shattered within her, like thousands of stars exploding."

A lovely description, don't you think?

I loved all 5 of these novellas. Kilts and Kisses by Victoria Roberts captivated me and although the book ended, there were many loose ends still left in the air. The author promises a sequel finishing the tale so I'm anxiously awaiting the rest of the story. The last book, "My Captive Highlander" by Vonda Sinclair stole my attention from the first page. It was a fast-moving, suspenseful read with a great love story twisted within. "His Wild Highland Lass" by Terry Spear I found humbling. Sometimes it is not the title or wealth, it's what's in their hearts that can be the only way to happiness. It also speaks of how easily things can be misconstrued when only half sentences are shared between these lovers. "The Highlander's Charm" by Eliza Knight is all about family and how important they are, regardless of what border they live on. This story tells of a knight that disobeys orders to do the right thing and along the way, he finds love for himself. "Heart of Stone" by Willa Blair was a hopeful, heart-warming tale of a woman praying for true love to find her as she weaves a necklace of bluebells while sitting within the circle of the stones.

Each one of these books capture you in a different way. It was a great read and I hope we have a chance at a repeat performance from these authors!!

Kissing the Highlander was an awesome anthology. It included wonderful novellas by some of my favorite highland historical authors: Victoria Roberts, Terry Spear, Eliza Knight, Willa Blair, and Vonda Sinclair. Each story took you away to a time where sexy highlanders fought hard and loved even harder, finally finding romance along the way. I have always loved anthologies since it gave the reader an opportunity to read authors they loved and discovered those they were not familiar with. Each story was lovingly written in the unique style of each author, making for a wonderful reading experience. If you love reading historical romance or have wanted to read works by these authors you have never read before, this anthology is the perfect platform to do that. I was so enthralled by this anthology, I read it from beginning to end quite fast. Thank you ladies for adding to my reading experience!!!
