Everything You Need to Know for #IHateWinter18

Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State athletics is gearing up for an exciting 2018 I Hate Winter Weekend, January 25-27th from Wachs Arena. The Wolves wrestling and men's and women's basketball teams will be home for five match-ups over the three days. A full list of weekend events and promotions can be found below.
 
As an annual tradition the weekend will feature court and matside hot tubs for all five contests. Each night will feature a different giveaway, with events for all ages. Northern State University is sponsoring free Snapchat filters for the weekend, with fans also able to follow along with the excitement (northernstateu). Thursday -  January 25, 2018
The Northern State University wrestling team will host St. Cloud State in their opening home dual of the season beginning at 7 p.m. from Wachs Arena. The dual will feature student centered promotions kicking off the weekend.

  • FREE pizza and beverages for students (w/ valid ID)
  • FREE photo booth and Hawaiian Leis sponsored by Howling Wolves
  • Double Howling Wolves points for ALL students (ID required for swipe – 20 pts)
  • Matside hot tubs sponsored by Black Knight Pools, Spas, Games & Things
 
Friday - January 26, 2018
The nationally ranked Northern State basketball teams will host the University of Sioux Falls for a doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m. from Wachs Arena. Sanford Health is set to sponsor the game, which will also feature the annual women's basketball pink match-up. In collaboration with the pink game, the Northern State men's basketball team has teamed up with Go4theGoal Foundation to support pediatric cancer research, with the Lace up 4 Pediatric Cancer event. The Wolves will wear gold shoe laces versus the Cougars, as a part of the national promotion. If you would like to support the Wolves click here to donate. The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference will also be in attendance Friday night for NSIC Day, featuring games and promotions in conjunction with league officials. Don't forget about the Sideliner Luncheon Series from Lager's Inn beginning at 11:45 a.m. featuring Northern State coaches and student-athletes talking about the upcoming weekend and season!

Saturday - January 27, 2018
The weekend caps off with an NSIC doubleheader against Southwest Minnesota State beginning at 4 p.m. from Wachs Arena. Saturday's game sponsor will be Dacotah Bank. The Wolves men are hosting a men's basketball reunion on Saturday featuring a halftime recognition of the 1998 Elite Eight team.

Fans are reminded that ticket prices for Friday and Saturday's basketball games will be increased to the marquee game price. Ticket prices are as follows: $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $8 for students.
