- The Special Investigations Unit has been called in following a police-involved shooting early Tuesday in Newmarket, Ont. The SIU says just after midnight, York Region police officers responded to a 911 call about shots being fired near an apartment building on Davis Drive.
- Some fruit products imported from California are being recalled due to concerns about possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the whole peaches, plums, nectarinees and pluots are sold primarily the Sweet 2 Eat brand.
