Republican Senate candidate David McCormick is outraged over an upcoming New York Times article he says contains "frivolous lies" about his childhood.
McCormick, who just last month was ridiculed after bragging that his wife was on the board of Exxon, posted about the journalistic inquiry in a Thursday explainer on social media.
"The New York Times’ [Katie Glueck] is writing a story filled w/ frivolous lies about my childhood. If it weren’t so demeaning to my parents’ lifelong teaching careers & the college town I’m so proud to have been raised in, it might be funny. [New York Times] is lying," he said on Thursday.

He went on to claim that he "lived on campus at Bloomsburg State College and my parents owned a farm ten minutes down the road. I had summer jobs bailing hay & trimming Christmas trees at nearby farms."
He then revealed what the New York Times was purportedly writing about.
An email from Glueck to someone other than McCormick tells the story.
"He has said repeatedly and strongly implied that he grew up on a family farm, even though he previously acknowledged that he largely grew up in the president's residence at Bloomsburg University, known to many students and other locals as the 'president's mansion,'" she wrote, according to the screenshot McCormick provided. "I'm aware that sometimes he says he grew up 'in town' while his family also had a farm, but there are many instances in which he has not made that distinction, which strikes some in his hometown as disingenuous."
Democratic Senator John Fetterman rejoiced at the prebuttal from the candidate.
"Snitched on himself, love to see it. While we wait for the NYT to confirm what we already know about the 'farmer' from Connecticut," he said before suggesting a contribution to an opponent of McCormick.
Did Donald Trump violate his gag order while he was seated in court while the trial was underway?
Former federal prosecutor Ryan Goodman raised the specter of former President Donald Trump not only testing the limits of a gag order imposed on him by New York Judge Juan Merchan in his criminal falsifying business records trial — but going about it during the actual trial.
"To make these statements or have these statements made from within the courthouse would be to amplify the 'contempt' of and for the court," Goodman, who is also co-Editor-in-Chief of Just Security, wrote in a Twitter post.

The finding comes as prosecutors cited seven instances in a supplemental affidavit that they say Trump flouted the gag order.
Goodman pointed to numerous time stamps from both Monday and Tuesday that if they hold up could pinpoint Trump's potential brazenness to flout the gag order while inside the courtroom.
"See some of the time stamps that DA identifies in new motion," wrote Goodman. "Monday 9:12 a.m. Monday 10:26 a.m. Tuesday 1:50 p.m."
A contempt hearing is slated for April 23 at 9:30 A.M. after prosecutors complained about Trump's possible violations of the gag order aimed to shield court staff, jurors, witnesses and relatives of both Merchan and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Assistant District Attorney Christopher Conroy specifically requested a $1,000 fine for each of the alleged violations and an order forcing the 45th president to pull them off his Truth Social feed, as well as warning him that further violations "could result in jail time.”
Conroy alluded to the timing of the suspected fourth gag order violation, stating, “It’s entirely possible it was done within this courthouse."
Back on April 1, Merchan expanded the gag order that was originally issued on March 26 to also keep off-limits "the family members of any counsel, staff member, the Court or the District Attorney."
Donald Trump on Thursday complained about the cold criminal courtroom where a jury is being built to ultimately decide whether he committed a criminal act, causing many people to make jokes about the former president.
Earlier in the day, Trump reportedly lamented to his aides that it was "freezing" in Judge Merchan's New York courtroom, where Trump faces charges of falsifying business records to hide an affair as a means to manipulate the 2016 election. In that case, the jury has already been selected, and the alternative slate is being completed now.
But Trump complained numerous times about the cold, even at one point leading to a request for the judge to change the temperature, according to reports.

"At one point today, Todd Blanche asked Judge Merchan if he could turn up the thermostat one degree. The judge said no. Trump then said it was 'freezing.' So we know who wanted to turn up the heat," Politico's Ben Feuerherd reported.
The mockery online was endless.
A.J. Delgado, who actually worked for Trump's campaign in the past, mocked the lack of perceived manliness associated with complaining about cold.
"How cringe. Dude, you have a jacket on. Stop being such a beta," she said Thursday.
Former federal prosecutor Elizabeth de la Vega also chimed in.
"Someone needs to send Trump a wearable blanket with armholes so he doesn't get cold in the courtroom," she wrote Thursday. "Fleece would be appropriate for him."
@TheSGTJoker also added, "You know what a REAL man doesn’t do? Whine and cry about how cold the courtroom is."
Conservative Army Iraq War Veteran Peter Henlein laughed at the situation.
"Lol, Trump is complaining the courtroom is too cold. What a little b----. Can we all stop pretending this pampered baby who has never experienced a day of hardship in his life is some kind of ‘tough guy’?" he wrote in response.
