STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Vents aren't just for circulating air, apparently.

A Mariners Harbor man tried to hide a loaded gun and bullets in a vent in his home, but cops found them anyway, allege prosecutors.

Christopher Edwards, 20, was arrested Thursday during a raid of his Giordan Court residence, police said.

Officers, armed with a search warrant, discovered a loaded .38-caliber handgun in a bedroom vent, along with a sock containing 51 bullets, said a criminal complaint.

Edwards was charged with firearm possession, weapon possession and ammunition possession, said a spokesman for District Attorney Daniel Donovan.
