ED ACT NOW 2014
The deadline for applications has now passed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for your interest in applying to join ED ACT NOW, Know Your IX's national policy campaign for better federal enforcement of Title IX. ED ACT NOW organizers are involved in a range of projects using a diversity of methods, including drafting policy recommendations, rallying grassroots support online and off, writing petitions, educating students, advocating in the media, and meeting with policymakers. To read more about ED ACT NOW, visit: http://knowyourix.org/i-want-to/take-national-action/. This position is part time: we expect organizers to be able to work 3-4 hours a week (but there is always more work to be done for those available).

We particularly encourage people from historically marginalized groups, including but not limited to people with disabilities, people of color, trans people, queer people, first- or second-generation immigrants (including undocumented people), and people from low income families, to apply. We also encourage students from types of schools often overlooked in discussions of campus violence, and survivors of forms of sexual and gender-based violence commonly ignored by anti-violence efforts (relationship abuse, same-sex violence, etc.) to apply. KYIX is a student-driven campaign, so we will prioritize applications from those currently or recently enrolled as students and those directly impacted by campus violence.

Unfortunately, we currently don't have the capacity to pay anyone on our team, but we are working to provide modest stipends in the (hopefully near) future. In the meantime, we will make every effort to compensate our organizers in other ways, with valuable experience organizing at a national level, free media and other trainings, and connections to leaders in anti-violence and feminist work. And, as our organizer roles are part-time (3-4 hours per week, with option to expand involvement if desired), they can be small enough commitments to enable, we hope, students to hold other jobs simultaneously. If KYIX’s inability to pay would preclude your involvement, please email us at knowyourIX@gmail.com.

We will close the application, available below, on August 1st. If you have any questions, please contact knowyourIX@gmail.com.
