BCBSM Providing $1 Million of PPE to Michigan Dentists; Order Your Supplies Now
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan announced today that in a cooperative effort with the Michigan Dental Association, it will donate $1 million for the procurement and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE) to support dentists and patients statewide amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The funds will be used to assemble PPE kits containing NIOSH-approved KN-95 masks, disposable isolation gowns with cuffs, and bouffant hair caps.
All practicing Michigan dentists are eligible to receive free PPE at no charge. To register for the free PPE, you must complete a form on the MDA website, inputting your name, your dental license number, and your practice shipping address. The deadline to register is Monday, Sept. 14, 2020. PPE kits will not be sent to residential addresses and cannot be sent to P.O. Boxes.
What you need to know
$1 million worth of PPE will be equally distributed to all dentists who register; the amount distributed to each dentist depends on the number of dentists who participate in the program.
PPE is available to licensed dentists in Michigan, regardless of whether the dentist is an MDA member.
You must be a licensed dentist to obtain the PPE.
Only one order may be obtained by each licensed dentist.
If you practice with multiple dentists, each dentist must complete the online form and provide his or her name and dental license number.
All orders will be addressed to each dentist.
The deadline to register for the free PPE is 11:59 p.m., Sept. 14, 2020. This is a firm deadline.
PPE kits will be assembled after the registration process is complete to maximize the amount of products in each order.
PPE will be shipped via UPS two to four weeks after the registration process closes.
