It’s week two of the 2014 AMSI Winter School and a big thank you to BrisScience for hosting Monday's public lecture. Over 200 people were fascinated by Prof. Andrew White’s talk on quantum computing and cryptography.

DEALING WITH AUSTRALIA'S MATHEMATICAL DEFICIT

 

The 2014 edition of AMSI’s trusted publication, A Discipline Profile of the Mathematical Sciences, was released last month. This year’s profile generated much media attention and the accompanying policy recommendations call for government to: “Train the unqualified teachers of school mathematics and secure supply of future maths teachers."
